Eagle Fish Elite 480 for $209
they are going to be discontinued !!!!
Doesn't mention about needing an external antenna at all. Call them and ask about this before you order as this may be a hidden cost that will jack up the price. You'll also need a map card for the gps too. Thats at least another $100 if you want a current one. At this price, get it now and get the accessories later this spring.
I have the non GPS Fish Mark 480 version of this and it is a decent fish finder for the money and if its all you can afford its a good deal in my book. I am looking at one of these at Bass Pro and the GPS antenna is included and it also has a built in base map of lakes and inland waters. The cards are needed if you want more detail. If you just want the GPS to navigate with and mark spots you won't need the card but if you want detailed maps then yes you will need one and most require you to buy a card anyway except the high dollar ones that are bundled and you are still paying for the maps. I am getting one to put in my console for simple navigation and will probably get the detailed card. Some day I plan on putting something nice up on the bow like a side image HB, but for the price this will work perfect at my console. Just my 2 cents.
I am going tomorrow to get one at Bass Pro in Nashville, TN tomorrow I will post tomorrow when I get back and let you know 100% for sure what comes with it if you would like.

I've had mine installed for a week or 10 days now. It comes with everything you need, including the GPS puck. Includes basic lake maps and for the money this unit has TONS of features! I thought about getting a higher end unit but it will take me a month of Sundays to figure out all the features that are included in this finder.
It works GREAT!! It's sonar is excellent and I've navigated with it some, seems to work perfectly.
Thanks for the heads up grego, I ordered one today.
I picked mine up today at Bass Pro, looks good does include the antenna and can't wait to get it put in and try it out. I shouldn't have to change out transducers this is replacing an eagle fish mark 480 at the console and I am moving the 480 to the bow the transducers should be the same. So other than mounting the antenna it should be plug and play.

Glad to see that everything is included. Loved my 480. Would recommend them to everyone, especially at this price that includes the gps.
You wont need speed sensor as your speed is in the GPS.;)
No question is a dumb one when you're wanting to learn. The GPS is for showing your position and creating waypoints. It also will show your speed. All this will be displayed on your map screen. Your sonar screen shows your depth, water temp and any structure or fish. You can have either your map or sonar screen displayed or like most people do, have them both with the split screen.
Can you link two of these together? I am in the market for some new graphs. I want color, but these are looking pretty hard to pass up.
By the way guys...
If anyone wants to try this finder BEFORE you invest the money to own one, you can download a fishElite 480 simulator and run it on your computer here: Product Emulators
Scroll down and select the FishElite 480. They also have simulators for the other finders they offer.
I guess the real question I have is should I invest in a color graph, or use these to get by. I had an Eagle before that was color and was good until I sold the boat. I now have a Garmin 498 and the fish finder is lacking big time. It also takes the data card, which is another downfall. Should I jump on two of these or save up for a nice color graph. I would like SI, but I am only a weekend angler.
Now I have a Lowrance 520C in the front of my boat. Lowrance replaced it with the Elite 5 which costs over $500. This unit is just like my 520C but in B&W.
Exactly what I've been looking for. The reviews look great. Thanx guys. Get out the credit card and brush off the moth balls mama.
I just put one on the front of my boat for trolling using the navionics chip. Problem I am having is that I can hardly see the contour lines on the map. Has anyone had this problem and if so what do I need to do.
Does this come with a transducer?? If so, what type?
It comes with a GPS antenna and a transom mount transducer. I just installed mine on my boat today.
