Here's how to find extra fishing money !!!

I recently found myself searching the MO Unclaimed Property website and was amazed at how many funds I found for friends, family, and co-workers. The funds are reported to the state by companies, organizations, etc. that have lost contact with the individual or business. The funds could be from security deposits, credit balances on closed accounts, etc. The state keeps the funds and will return them to you if you can prove you are the rightful owner. In many cases, you can do it all on-line. If you have a new address, you may be required to send in some type of proof such as a copy of a utility bill, tax return, etc. I'm sure some of you have funds sitting there just waiting to be converted into rods, reels, and crappie jigs. :)

Be sure to search different ways as I found the search engine is a little quirky especially when searching for business names.

Make sure to get your commission off the the deal for informing your uncle! Should be worth at least 10%.

Ok... Ok... go ahead... make a mockery out of this post. But just remember that while all of you are snickering, SOMEONE from this board, has a sizeable claim just waiting for them. If that person happens to read this thread and sees all of your comments, they may decide not to look on the Unclaimed Property website for themselves due to the assumption that any money they may have would be miniscule and not worthy of wasting any of their couch potato time. All the while, that sizeable claim sits there in the vault of the MO Dept of Unclaimed Property just waiting to be turned into a brand new 10' Sam Heaton rod.

what the heck is going on here, if you guys need extra money, i pay about 3.50 to clean 1/2mile of fence row. that is three dollars fifty cents, don't hesitate the money is waiting.

Don't take it personal-if ya read any of my posts,I'm kinda smartazz..no foul....I check that site and others every year around tax time,for all my relatives...the most we ever were due was about 10$..but I was serious..I've had about 1.50 sitting there for three years,and if I remember,I do have to send a letter which costs 49 for a stamp.

I wasn't taking it personally. I've read posts on this site long enough to know pretty much everyone is a smartazz... including me. I know its all in good fun. My reply was meant to be funny in a tongue-in-cheek fashion rather than serious.

Oh.. and by the way, in my recent searches for friends and family, I've found several hundred dollars (prob over 500) and that is only factoring 50 for those that say over 50. (Zero for me, however... )

By the way, if your 1.50 is sitting there and you have not changed addresses, I don't think you will have to mail anything in.
