How many of you use multi-rigs when spider rigging. By that I mean two hooks 18 in or so apart if minnow fishing or two jigs per pole. I've always just used one but I think I'm gonna try the two jig rigs.

I use double rigs. I rig them up Caps and Coleman style.
Almost always use double rigs. Sometimes in the spring, I will fish one 1/4 oz jig in the shallows.
I usually run 1/2 oz with my double rigs. When fishing very shallow, I will run just a single 1/4 oz jig on the end of the line with no weight.
I began spider rigging using two hooks above a 1 oz bottom sinker. Every time I'd catch a fish it seemed the fish would shake off both minnows before I'd get my hands on it and I'd run out of bait too early so I switched back to 1 hook. Seems when theyre biting 1 hook does fine and when they aint...well, doesnt really matter then.:o
Thanks guys, I just rigged up 8 rigs with a barrel swivel on the top, then a 1/4 oz egg sinker about 6 in below that. Then a 1/16 oz minnow head jig tied in a loop knot below the sinker and another 1/16 oz jighead 18 in below that one. I wrapped the rigs on a piece of swimming noodle. I'll hook them on my poles when I get out there. Fixin to get my coveralls on and try them out.
I've been spider rigging jigs using just one jig and a 1/4 oz egg sinker a foot or so above it for years. I'm sure there's a bunch of ways to do it. I was just thinking, sounds dangerous, that all I need on my jig poles is a snap and I can put my rigs on when I get out there. Might cut down on pole tangles.
Maybe we'll meet up one day, I'll show ya how I do mine. No tangles, with the rigs on the poles. I also use noodles for extra rigs.
I hope so feelay, I've still got lots to learn.
We all do!
Feelay showed me how he keeps his poles tangle free. Good method that I stole from him. Other than that, he's useless. Unless your into fetchin diet cokes and beenie weenies. Pfffffffffffttttt.
Pfffft..
Ditto on G and feelays setups. Capps n coleman style most of the time bout 18 inches apart but if im not fairly sure what depth theyre at. Ill space the bout 3 feet
Hey DD ya big gewb....your supposed to be painting cranks, lol.
He is probably on NESSA's honey do list today. Just call him DDbe!
He' on the doo doo list thats for sure, lol
I use a caps and coleman style double rig with minnows or jigs. Sometimes I suspend them under a cork,
Well I tried my new rigs out this afternoon at Okatibbee. Steve is out of town so no dinks were caught. LOL I caught 30 but kept only 12. I only caught one fish on the top jig though. I believe that's because the crappie were hugging the bottom pretty tight.

Dang, that iphone takes a good picture.
Steve is gonna get ya when he gets back:D
It will be like Ted on ES. LOL
He left for yankee fish. Somebody else's cupcake now
Glad you got to fish and caught some good ones.
Nice Scott, I wish weather would cooperate and my time would work so I could at least give it a try :( got my shop in such a mess, will take me a day to dig my boat out :)
It was cold and a little windy but I had to get out of this house. I looked at some pictures of the Capps and Coleman double rig and I tied some of those with 1/2 oz sinkers tonight and I'll try them when I get a chance.
Where did you find those pics Scotty, I searched all over to no avail.
Hey Feelay you got a pic of your no tangle setup?
cupcake keep diging that hole make it deep sheet soaker
Use a Capp & coleman rig, put the bottom hook in the keeper on your rod, pull the top hook up towards the tip and wrap your main line 5 times around the shank of the hook. Then, grab the weight and twist the pole 4 or 5 times wrapping the line around the pole until you have all the slack taken up.
scott I gave you some special sinkers for spider riggin. the one's I made. If you meet me in late March I will show you how to use them.
Yea Rick I was just looking at those yesterday. Just let me know when you're coming up and we'll meet up for sure.
I fished yesterday at Okatibbee with my son in law and we used the Capps and Coleman rigs I made. They worked good but all the fish but one were caught off of the bottom jig. It seemed like I was just wasting a lot of nibbles on the top ones.

I use the twist on sinkers so I can change size if needed.
I tied up 8 yesterday while watching football. Half of em were c&c and the others with the weight on the bottom. Wrapped em on a piece of insulation that I had in the truck. Looking forward to trying em out.
Been using this rig for years, the snap swivel lets you change wts. or remove wts for longlineing
I like that right there Jim. You don;t get many tangle with the line getting wrapped around the lead, do ya? I use pinch on weights from 3/8 oz to 3/4 oz so I can switch them out fast. Only bad thing about that is the ears on the lead and line getting wrapped around them from time to time
