this winter has been good weighed one at 2 lb 13 oz about 5 at 2.5 lb couple dozen or more at 2lb.heard of 4 3lbers but never seen them on scales.more big ones to come,fat crappie growing their eggs and gorged on baby shads.

since tues it has slowed to no one even fishing last couple days.tomorrow ought to be back on though.

Dot com r's, lurkers, and all others observing this board, The pool could be alot hotter, All it needs is some more attention, it is still lacking the kind of structure needed to really pull the crappie in there. More structure is needed. If everyone who came to fish for the next two weeks would bring just one brush pile or a man made structure and sink it, there would be a even greater abundance of fish in there. There was a group of us that went out last weekend and we sunk some structures, and I aint saying thats why those fish are there, but you do the math. Seem aweful coincidental, Before dano was posting a limit or two here and there, look at what it did the first week after getting structure added to the pool. Its worth the effort to put out structure. Please consider bringing a hardwood brush pile or PVC structure.

Hey slabs, i already have 3 stake beds like the other ones we sank and im building one pvc structure,im going to sink them next sat night, then im going to set back and reap the benefits of my hard work:D that is if someone isnt already benefiting from it

SORELIPS, thats the reason for the last post I made, there is nobody with a boat that goes up to the pool that cant put out some structure, However there is plenty who are willing to sit back and let everyone else do the work and then rush in to reap the benefits of everyone elses work. I really dont mind putting out the structure, and I dont have a issue with everyone knowing where it is at and fishing it, just so long as they are willing to put forth the effort to help put it out. By the end of the weekend I will have every single peice of structure in the pool on GPS. I would post every single coordinate for that structure if there was more participation in putting it out. But at this point there is only a hand full of people that will get those coordinates from me and they all were there last weekend helping put it out or they supplied materials so that we could put them out or they let us use thier boat ramps as a home base. But anyone who did not contribute will have to find the structures by trial and error.

MIDSOUTH MAN Thanks for letting me know that you had to work and could not make it last week end. Out of all the positive responses to the project and so many people saying they would help, you were the only one who came forward to say that you could not make it after all, I RESPECT YOU for that. Everyone else just left us hanging. I will PM YOU the coordinates after I get them, we still need to get together and trade some fishing tips and info sometime in the near future.

Don't forget Crappie Pro who was sick and couldn't be there. He posted on Sunday after we put the structure out and said he was sick.

Just in case I ever meet any of you fellas over there I sure don't want any hard feelings towards me. I did let yall know that I had kid duties (5 and 2 yr old) that night, but that I will be putting something out in the pool next time I'm over there, which hopefully will be tomorrow. I'm not asking for any coordinates b/c for one I don't own a GPS unit, two I like to and can find my own fish, and lastly I don't know how to fish water deeper than my waist anyway lol. I appreciate yall's efforts in trying to improve an already good fishing hole. My 5 yr old has already made some memories there w/ me, and we're both looking forward to lots more! Tav and crappie pro did let us know, I am sorry for not counting y'all however I have a list at home that I was going thru and adding name to my handful of people, and I have you tav2 and crappie pro on the list of giving coordinates to. Once again I am truly sorry for not including y'all on my list. But I will say this to tav2 and crappie pro you guys said since y'all could not make it y'all were bringing structure with you when y'all came up to fish the next time, that's why I had y'all on the coordinates list.

Hey guys,i live up by harrison.i am about 110 miles from gold creek.came down tuesday for awhile and brought a 2 man boat to a guy.my question is/if i fix up some boo about 6 or 8 foot tall and bring down to dano's if someone would take it out and sink it?? kinda hard to haul out in a 2 man boat. I may have spoke a little harshly in a previous reply to this thread, I have met several more dot com er's today, I have not met a dot com er yet that was not just super nice. I said only a hand full of peolple would get the structure coordinates at gold creek, that was harsh, I believe I will post them for the publics use as soon as I get a chance, if anyone objects to making the puplicly known let me know and I will keep them as a pm only, coordinates.

Hey slabs, I want to apologize for not bring there to help y'all out the other night. I was supposed to go with midnight and worldsworst but the wife have become pretty sick so I stayed to be with her. I have talked to the guys recently and we are talking about making some more PVC structures to sink in the pool area as soon as we get the material. From what they said y'all had a pretty good turn out that night. I just hate that i missed it. I was looking forward to meeting everyone. Maybe we can get together soon to sink structures again. I'll have something built by then.

Hey TAV - Iam planing to make a Conway trip soon and plan to bring something. It wont be big but the haul from Jonesboro is a trip. Iam like you with the GPS I use a bouy when I find a good place. And as soon as that dang White River will ever fill up Iam going to show you how to fish deep water.When we troll the first time you will have to bring nothing. I have the rods, holders and dip net and cooler. If the Bay turns on like last year you will be hooked on trolling.

Don't know if you meant you were coming down to fish or not, but if you're not fishing, you could drop that structure off somewhere, or meet me somewhere, and I'll take it and put it out in the pool for you and give you the coordinates of where I drop it.

Where is that deep water you are talking about trolling in? That sounds like something I would be interested in getting in on!:D:D:D

Sounds good to me BillyE. You know how to get in touch w me. I've caught a lot of fish in the bottom lakes on lower Cache/White over the years trolling, but my definition of trolling is a pole in each hand lol. I've never fished the multi-pole setups, but I'll try just about anything once.

Thanks, Dano, for letting people drop off structure there for the pool. I think Arkyfisherman from Harrison had something to bring and was looking for a place to drop it off. I think I speak for pretty much everyone when I say we appreciate your help by letting us use your place for a staging and launching place to enhance the fishing in the pool. THANKS DANO - I hope to see you soon. This weekend is the Grizzly Jig Show so I will be at Reelfoot. The following weekend if I can get a kitchen pass I plan on coming to Conway for the weekend and stay in a hotel. Any suggestions were to stay? I think I have 2 structures that will make the trip.

I have some square buckets (kitty litter) i have been using to make up some smaller boo structures on other lakes. I was wondering how tall the structures need to be for the pool. I have only been up there a few times, and really didn't know what I was doing, but luckedinto a few fish. I am willing to make up a few and get them up there if I can get a hint or 3 on where to sink them, and how tall it needs to be.

LMBarnett, If I was making boo buckets I would not make them much more than half the depth of the water tall. The depth of the pool, for the majority is about 8 to 10 foot deep. So somewhere between 4 to 6 Foot tall would probably serve best. As to where to sink them, i would try and keep them out of the shute into the pool, and put them more towards the actual round part of the pool. Some know and some dont know, but the shallow end of the pool is the west end it has a ridge under water that drops of into about 6 or 7 foot of water, that ridge runs from where the colvert dumps into the pool to the other bank on a southwestward angle. The middle area of the pool needs some attention when it comes to structure, there is not much in the mid section at all. The eastern side of the pool needs structure added as well. Hope this help you out with what you were asking.
