Who all would be interested in building a few pallet beds or brushpiles ? The lake is rising and should be full soon.
Nimrod, I would be very interested in helping build and put them out. I'm retired so have plenty of time and can work on this about anytime. I live in Conwqy so not too far away. Just let me know when you want to do it and I'll be there. Do I need to bring anything?
A strong back and a weak mind lol lol.;) Just kidding. I can get pallets to build stakebeds, nails, and stakes. Rocks to sink them are all over the banks.;) You can bring whatever you have access to. We need to get Slabbandit , Harold, Fancyseats and a few more involved. Those with boats big enough to haul brush are whatever would help. Start posting to see who is interested before we discuss a time. I have some stumpy submerged Islands on the dam end of the lake marked with GPS. Thinking about working down on that area.
Sounds good to me! I'll keep watching the board and chime in when things get a little more definite. My boat is a 1542 War Eagle with 25 Yamaha, not big enough to haul a lot. Anyone have a pontoon boat we could use? How much weight does it take to sink stake beds made from pallets? We had trouble sinking some of those in the pool last week. They were a little bigger than a 4 x 4 pallet though. Can we get all we need from the bank, or would it help for me to bring a trailer with blocks and/or rocks?
Nimrod,
Count me in. I would like to be involved. Weekends will work best for me.
Let me know what days you want to work.
Let me know when. I cam get some slabs from a saw mill near where I live. I can get
all the pallets we need also. I can also get some left overs from a shop that mskes
wood trim molding. It will be anything from 1" wide to 2" and up to 16' long.
Slabbandit is suppose to check with the Corps office before we start anything as a group.
are you going to do anything this weekend ? coming up there eather sun or mon .tell slabbandit i got him a whole bunch of big zip ties .looking foward to seeing you guys .are you catching any?
I've been thinking about putting some of them there bambo condos out just haven't got motivated to do it yet. Mainly waiting on the lake to fill up to full pool.
I just talked to the Corp about us building fish cover and they said it would be OK.
So when do we want to do it?
I can't be there on 1/25, 2/7, 2/14 or 2/21. But I can make it just about any other days. We can meet at my trailer and work there then use my pondtoon to put them in the warter. I have a air compresser and nail gun that I will bring. Let me know what you think. If you want to call me my number is 501-888-2570.

HOW ABOUT JAN. 29 or FEB. 8 unless weather prohibits? Everyone chime in that is interested. Also bring pallets or whatever else you can and list with your name. We can meet at Harold's in Carter Cove or Carden point launch. When everyone is committed we can pm cell phone #'s.
1. NIMROD /pallets can go either day.
Hey Nimrod,
February 8th is on a Tuesday. Did you mean February 5th, a Saturday?
Either day is good for me, and I will be there either day. I plan to bring a weak mind and a strong back (LOL) unless there is something specific we need. I don't have access right now to either pallets or hardwood boards but can be looking in the next two weeks. Can we get all the rocks we need from the bank of the lake, or would it be worthwhile for me to gather rocks and haul them over?
Hey Nimrod feb 5 I can do. I have a place in cater cove also. I can get bamboo if we can use that. Most of it is 20-30' tall but can cut it to whatever length we need.
If you use bamboo it will need to be built ahead of time if you use concrete. Bucket lids and wire can be used with blocks for quick builds. There is plenty of bamboo right in Carter cove. I mostly use pallets , but we will sink whatever you bring bamboo , PVC, or brush piles. Let's see how many want to help and what day would be best for the most people. I live close and can go almost anytime. We could even have 2 seperate work days if need be.
I'm gonna build a few boo buckets but I can get cedar trees and all sorts of stuff. I also have a bunch of 1/8th inch steel cable.
Looks like from those I contacted Saturday Feb.5 will be our day. We plan to meet at Harold's in Carter Cove. Unless weather does'nt permit and need to reschedule. I hope to see as many as possiable that fish Nimrod Lake. Harold will post directions, feel free to pm us for our contact cell #'s if you wish.

Tried to add my name to the list but not too savvy on how to do that so as you can see, it didn't work. My computer tutor/counselor/advisor is not here right now, so just add my name to the list!
Here you go Ski. Hope this build works out and maybe this spring we can organize a cookout or Crappie Camp on Nimrod Lake.:D:cool:

Hey guys, Feb. 5th sounds good to me , weather permitting. I've been having a lot of trouble with Arthritis in my knees and ankles lately so I probably couldn't do much out on the boats. I think that I could probably help out on the builds over at Harold's though.
ss2004, I would like to get some more of those zipties from you whenever.:)
Slabbandit see if you can get me some also.

Fancy Seats check your PM.
Looking forward meeting everyone, please don't forget your GPS. I will send anyone helping, the coordinates . If they don't get coordinates on the build or lose them. Will try to help those with GPS as long as they have an etrex and sure Slabbandit will too. Be a good time to ask questions on Crappie fishing structure and spider rigging for newbies.:)
Guys if this weather gets bads we may need to postpone this a week.
I'm not gonna be able to make it anyways. I will have my son this weekend but I might be able to next weekend for a few hours.
