Don't be so negative. You're leaving out the advantages of living in Chicago: after you die, you still get to vote -- for the same people who brought you tax increases and deficits.

ABSOLUTELY...
just bringing in news from the outside that you don't get there until after the fact. i think the politicians are exempt. makes sense.
I know you said Chicago but dont forget about E. St. Louis also
And these Idiots wanted to bring the summer olympics to Chicago.... Everyone knows that the tax payers build everything that is needed to hold the Olympics and it seems that every place that has ever had the olympics is in financial ruin.
exactly. just what i was going to say. don't know where you are slab but i'd bet that you could sell there and buy say in ark or miss and be money ahead. property is probably selling higher there. i know we southerners are more friendly than you/most yankees and we don't talk funny. you can understand us when we talk. and as you probably know miss has the world record for both black and white crappie or did last time i looked.
You can bunk with me Slab. Free of charge. Just make me a moderator. Bwahahahahahaha
Wannabe...
WI is next I'm sure. Taxes are a way of life here also.
That way it is put it makes it look totally exagerated. you show 66% increase but in actuallity its increasing from 3% to 5% so its a 2% boost and after 4 years it drops to 4%
anyway you figure it that's 66% from 3 to 5. don't sugar coat a turd. i'm sure it still stinks. that is for peoples that live there. i stays in ark and have a homestead deal locked in of a 350.00 exemption on my abode and my taxes on my house and property/yard/3 acres is 35 cents.
old duck hunter ...I'm moving in ... you fail to mention ??????
no nim. the house is rock. no trailer house here. speaking of income taxes i got to get my fourth quarter tax in. another thing about ark is they've lowered the tax on groceries and are fixing to lower them more.
rich come on down. bring your toy boat and i'll make a rudder for it.
Gentlemen,
And this is why we dislike Chicago politics !!! everybody in Illlinois pays for Chicago greed. Missouri looks like the place I need to move to.
Z21
nooooooo. don't move to mo. move to the natural state. the wonder state. the bear state. and last but not least, the drug state right behind mo. move to the beautiful state of ark.
packing my bags when the weather breaks. Do they pipe sunshine do ther??? you know I might take you up on that???
that's strange. i duckhunted in mo for 53 years and for some reason with the exception of back in the 50's when i hunted corn fields, i had to wear hip boots and waders for some reason. uh uh i think it was water. and ducks? you'd have a fit if i told you the truff. you'd call me an outlaw. i'm just glad i quit before mark reed caught me.
Missouri has personal property tax and a state income tax, which is one of the reasons we left St. Louis in 1989 (Not to mention the traffic, the noise, etc). I never understood why we had to pay taxes on anything with wheels year after year if we already paid sales tax. I plan on keepin' my butt in Tennessee for a good long while - no state income tax, no personal property tax, no state vehicle inspection (unless you're in Nashville or Memphis and maybe Knoxville). Good fishing, friendly people, nice state parks, it's all good.
I want out. I am trying to run a business here it's impossible. I have at least 2 years until my wife gets out of school.
I would like to move to kentucky. They don't have all the BS gun laws. There are a lot of good folks down there.
All but 2 counties voted agaist Quinn and most of cook county ( Chicago) voted for him. Whats that tell you Chicago runs this state.
Illinois were are governers make are licence plates.
I wish I could just tell my customers to increace my pay.
Sorry SLAB I know we aren't suppose to talk politics. But this has really bent me out of shape.
The only place I duck hunt is old monroe Mo. It's great. They have Truman lake.....great crappie. They have mark twain....great crappie.
Some of the best fishing tripd I ever had was at a place called thomas hill reservoir. What obout the Ozarks ? never been there but they tell me it's nice. I think sombody don't want us to come to MO. Oh and don't forget the Bud light taste better on that side of the Mississippi.
Move to ILL get it ill. we pay over a hundred bucks a year for plates. I don't blame you I would not live in St. Louis. And Tennesse was my number1 pick but have some great friends down at Kentucky lake. And I know TN has great people also. I have read about the taxes there very good for it's people. You are very lucky to have been able to make the move. Enjoy!
i don't know the perfect state. i lived and farmed in the bootheel of mo most of my life but did most of my hunting in both ark and mo because we have a hill farm here in ark. i love ark. the hills and everything except the ticks, chiggars and rattlesnakes. kentucky lake is a wonderful place to fish. reelfoot lake in tenn is a wonderful place to fish. ark is eat up with good fishing places but the hunting is either public or pay to hunt or have a friend but it's that way in every state now with hunting. we have it all here in ark and property is not as high here as it will be in ky or tenn i'd bet anything on that.
I live just across the river from St. Louis and I am looking to leave the state of Illinois as soon as I can retire, about 10 years. We have ridiculously high real estate
taxes because the schools are mainly funded by county real estate taxes. While we don't have personal property taxes we pay $100 for license plates on our cars and trucks, now they want to raise income taxes because the state can't pay it's bills or fund the obligations it already has, the jerks won't even seriously consider cutting
spending. The only way a person would benefit themselves by moving here is if they want to be a welfare bum that promises to vote democratic or if they have the connections to get a job through a union or a politician. I just hope by the time I can retire I'm able to find someone to buy my house.
Move to TENN. its close to arkabutla and you dont have to live in Ms.
taxes never go away. especially in ill.
Tennessee,no income tax, no personal property tax except on business,$22 car tags $72 for 3 years boat registration, liberal gun laws and free beer on Fridays.lol But please dont come down here and try to change it.
trash, they are ripping you off on the boat reg. that's terrible. i think ours for 3 years is 11.00 or so. truck tags 26.00 and we don't have memphis.
ya i know but deathb4disco said people in chicago get to vote after they are dead. that happens in E. St. Louis also
They were proposing a 75% tax increase, and settled on 66%. Business taxes went up too. Way to go you dumbarse politicians, you just chased all future jobs away, forcing hardworking people to move, and that leaves the wellfare left behind to suck the rest of us unlucky b!!!!!tards dry.
This was passed by politicians who were voted out of office, and on thier last night in office no doubt. From what I hear, not one Republican voted for the increase. There wasnt even discussion about how to reduce our expenses.
There you go, the Democratic way to solve money problems, increase taxes. Hey wait, isnt our current president from Illinois, arent we facing the highest national debt on record, do you suppose he will solve the national debt in the same fashion?
I am looking for some deer hunting property in Illinois if someone needs a little extra income to help with the taxes. It really is sad that Chicago and East St. Louis bring down an otherwise beautiful state with a lot of great folks. I have been bowhunting in Illinois for five years and met some wonderful people.
We have some Monster Bucks in East Central Illinois, No Doubt about it. All the corn they can eat. I would like to take you up on that Earl. Problem is, My brother just started Bow hunting last year on the ground our Family owns.
