Looks like you got it mastered.
Those look better than store bought.....looks like your a master now for sure!
I was thinking the same, G...Better than the factory job for sure!
I would say that they look at least as good as mine, if not better. Have you applied the top coat on those yet? If not, you'll see a big difference when you do. They'll shine like a new penny.
Great job Larry. It looks like you're hooked now. LOL
We need to work with DD now. LOL
They look awsome to me. Nice job. Are any of you that paint cranks interested in painting a few for profit? If so how much?
wilbur, I might try a few after I screw up a few more for myself, wont do it for any profit, and will give you a money back guarantee, that is I will refund all money I charge for doing it LOL
I dont think Im ready to do anyone else's bait just yet, but now Scott has got it goin on and he might help you out
m
I think they look great. When I was going to paint I asked what everyone thought a custom bait they would want. Bigger said he would like a 2 tone bait....Black/Pink and Chart./Pink......He wanted the front half one color and the back half the other color. Not a top to bottom blend.
I really like the way maachuu blended the two colors together, very professional looking.
Great job, great colours.. I'll take a dozen, or more, if and when you put them on the market, and I won't even charge you for your money back guarantee..lol... Electic Chicken is my favorite..
Blue back with chartreuse on the bottom might be good, I know thats a good jig color.
They look great Larry. I knew you were waiting on your Envirotex to come in the mail. I didn't know if you had gotten it yet or not. I think the top coat holds up real good in water. I've fished with some of mine and they didn't get sticky or anything after they had been in the water for an hour or so. I like the way you blended the colors together instead of taping them the way I've been doing.
I like the blended colors also. I think the tape should to be used when doing the front/back color
Im having trouble keeping my air regulated, I have a small pancake compressor that I use for a brad nailer I have and been trying to use it. Thinkin bout go ahead and get me one of the "Airbrush Air Compressors" and see if that will help me, and of course it very well could be that I dont know what Im doing:D. Scott, Ive been using a cheap blow dryer to help dry between coats and seems to make it go a lot faster. Got this tip from a YouTube video someone had posted on an airbrush forum I found

Maachuu, great looking baits. Excelent job on blending the colors. If you have a portable air tank you might try plumbing it inline with your compressor as a expansion tank before buying another compressor. Air pressure won't drop as fast and give compressor time to catch up.
maachuu, are you using a air regulator on your compressor? I use my big shop air compressor to run my air brush and with the regulator I can set my air pressure just right for my air brush , I also have a water separator filter to catch all the water the compressor makes so it will not wind up in my paint.
When I was doing taxidermy, I used a regular shop compressor with the regulator and water filter also.
G, this is what I have that I am using, dont have a filter but been looking at the lines with the filters in them made for airbrushing. This does have the regulator on it also.

That will work, just adjust your regulated side down to the required pressure that you need. You can get a inline water filter at Harbor Freight....just plug it into your regulated outlet on your compressor then plug your air hose into it.
I agree on blending colors it looks very professional and is hard to do. Thats just my opinion the Crappie might have their own.
Maachuu, tho9se look good and I'll bet the fish think so too.;) Looks like youre off to a great start with your "new" addiction.:)
Thanks gabowman, I hope you are right on the fish wanting them and yes it can be addicting :)
m
keep those colors that you know will catch coming, will build an arsenal LOL
m
Looking good bud. Ya'll sho are setting the bar high for me
DD, I dont know bout Scott, but I only post the pictures of the very best I have done LOL, Im gonna post some pictures of some of the screw ups as I do them before I repair. did you know that you wipe the createx paint off with damp cloth and try it again :)
Nice work Maachuu... Those look great..
DoubleG
Haven't messed with it but twice so far. It'll be a couple weeks before I try it again
Is that water base paint if it is where do you get it? And is the clear coat water base? Thanks. Might want to try that out.
