S L A B F E S T will be @ santa fe lake-(north florida) saturday feb 26 2011 !!!!

ok everyone this will be our first slabfest of 2011! i will be hosting the event at santa fe lake in melrose/keystone heights fla.we will have access to a nice pavillion and a double launch ramp. we will have this on saturday-feb 26th,2011.we can all meet at park @6am for boaters meeting.we will have coffee and can answer any lake questions anyone might have.we can meet back @ park at 130 pm to clean fish and eat.i can only hope it goes as well as speckanator and company have done the last two events.lake monroe was a great time with the nicest people u want to meet.the pavillion is at lake santa fe park in melrose.free launch(county owned).there are restrooms and a playground as well.this is a great location for central florida and south georgia to travel to.there are motels 20 miles or less and i will post them later.just like the other 2 events there are no rules-just catch fish so we can eat!!!! we are going to let everybody pitch in 5 or 10 bucks towards big fish of the day winner take all,that will be fun! everyone let me know how many in your party and i will start a list. i cant wait to see every one!!! thanks jeff

We'll be there (2) sounds great. Any info on RV camping would also be appreciated. Great location and maybe some of those panhandle and Georgia folks can show how it's done!

What I could find on google and google map you have 2 choices,
Walldo-Rolling Villas RV Park--(352)468-3884 About 11 miles from lake

Goldhead State Park--- (352)473-4701 about 14 miles

Maybe someone can come up with one closer.

If you go to reserveamerica website you can search by closest to city or place, and book through them. Florida State Parks, KOA and many others use this site for booking.

i only have one or two actually marked. There is this one area that i troll that has alot, i have just never marked em. I got some bouys so im just gonna motor around that area and find some and throw out a bouy and mark em, come back and fish em after i have found a few. Im fixin to go to Academy and buy a BnM BGJP 12 for tommorow and maybe some slab slayrs

I will be there. TC I think I might try Black Creek againg tomorrow if my girlfriend lets me. It's close to Christmas and she's getting weird.

So great to see Florida Slabfest growing. Yall seem to have some good people attending. Slabfest are so much fun. With the fishing eating and fellowship. Nice to see the big Fish Pool. A little competition is good for a man! I hope you all have many more and have such a good time you plan more and more of these. The first one I attended in Georgia back in 2005 {I think) was great. But I have had more and more fun as they grew each year. I look bak and we have at least 3 that are dead that attended our early events..I still miss them. Some of the best friends I have in my life were met at slabfest. Met a few not so friendly too..lol
Yall keep up the good work and most of all Enjoy every minute of Slabfest like it is your last..

Planning a fishing/camping trip to Sante Fe Lake on January 28th, 29th, and 30th. Hope to meet some locals while we're there and catch some of those 0.9072kg North Florida Specks. Hope the wind cooperates. Like crapslabstu, I don't care about the cold............ it saves on ice for the cooler!

yeah i hope the weather will be nice to us also. There are some big fish in Sante fe, hope they will be nice to us as well!

I will know if I can make it as we get closer to the Slabfest date. I really want to make it happen.

Im gonna try and talk my old man into coming with me but he will be down the weekend before so i dont know if he will be able to come back. If he doesnt i gotta open seat for anyone who doesnt have aboat that may wanna come. I sold my Lund so all i have is my 15ft jon, but.....i think my dad feels sorry for me and is gonna leave me his Bass Tracker to fish out of this year since he works so much. Keepin my fingers crosses, but even if he doesnt, the ole jon will get er done.

Sounds good, i try to fish sante fe every weekend . I fished it yesterday and caught 1 dink before the wind blew me away and today was beautiful but only caught 3. Had a great time anyway.
