It was zero here this a.m.!!!! brrrrrrrrrr and snow on the ground and gusty winds..... wind chill minus 15. Just right for a day of crappie chasing!
are you a part-time park ranger?
I would, however, plan on leaving the pontoon boat at home. Else, you'll be limited on where you can fish.

Is that at the main ramp?
I talked to this guy about the fishing this AM. I figured he must be on a strong pattern to be putting in with 24 degree temps and winds 10 to 15 out of the North. He said he came home from Partners last night about 4AM all sauced up and woke his wife up to make breakfast and told her to fix his eggs the same way his girlfriend does. Therefore, he didn't have any place else to go except fishing.

No Triton, that is where the main ramp used to be. Now it's where they are going to put the main ramp when it rains again.
CN, it depends.....is there a pic-i-nic basket anywhere to be found?

Sure would be a good time for them to extend the rubber mats down the sides of the ramp.
Then again, if you want to stay out of the wind, you could go to the spillway. Of course, you'd be out of place with the lack of elbows on your right and left, but if you go down around that bend to the left, there's a guy sitting on a five gallon bucket and you could sit on his lap so you could experience that Grenada Spillway fishing adventure the way it is intended.

Can't Feelay, they're run out of money after spending 36 Trillion dollars cleaning off the cedars at Wolf Creek, putting rip rap at Girl Scout point and cleaning out the ditch to the sand pit.

Do they always drop it this low?
does seem a bit low, but according to the website it is normal
You should both watch the daily White House Briefing in it's entirety...every day. If you did, you'd both know this is the "new normal".
According to their rule curve, this is the target, it's just that in years past, they haven't been able to reach it due to rain fall. 'Course, they've hit the target the last 2 years running....guess the memo about the severe drought in the entire South East and South Central US must have been overlooked.

How deep do you think it is at that narrow shoot that leads to the main Lake?
Man, that is so unreal on how law it is. Guess I'm used to good ole Barnett that won't change more than about 2 feet
I have seen some good fishing when it was this low this time of year.
my problem is finding the right barrel up there
Yikes, it's plenty deep. I'd guess 3 or 4 feet. Ya just gotta be careful and hug that buoy, keeping it on your right as you pass out. That buoy sits right on the lip of the dredged ditch going out.

That explains the big fish. Big fish eat and eat and eat. No where to swim. Nothing to do but eat.
