All,
I have a list of waypoints that a friend of mine gave me for the bay. What is the easiest way to input them into my HB and Lowrance units? It is a big list so putting them in directly is really time consuming.

Is it a hard copy printout or is it a transportable file? If it is a file, what is it? If it is hard copy, you're' screwed.
If your needing to do both i think (in my opinion) the easiest way would be to put them into google earth then export your file out and convert it on GPS Babel (free software download). Make one file then convert once to each type (lowrance and HB.) That's what i would do.
It is a microsoft word file.
take it to canepole
I can get it into an excel file pretty easy by copying the entry into the cells right?
Excel is an XLS file extension.
you might try Zambar to convert the file. It is a on line file converter.

NavyAngler,
I don’t know how well you will be able to convert the WORD file into an EXCEL file as this may depend on whether there are spaces in between the coordinates and possibly other factors as well. You may be able to just perform a copy and paste into EXCEL; again this may depend on whether there is a space or tab or whatever between the coordinates and such. If it comes down to it you could always just copy and paste each coordinate into an EXCEL file or even into a text file (*.txt extension) and use some software to import it.
Do you know what coordinate format these are in: DD.ddddd, DD MM.mmm, DD MM SS (where D = Degrees, M = Minutes, S = Seconds)?
Do you know what Map Datum was used for these?
If you want to you can send me the document to look at and see if I can figure a faster way of entering the data into your Humminbird for you. Once in a convertible file format you could use GPSBabel to convert to the Lowrance file format.
