Anyone on here ever fish Eagle Lake for catfish?
Do they allow noodles and/or lines?
Is there anywhere to camp at the lake?
Thanks for any info....

they do allow lines ijn accordance with state laws. I have never seen any noodles on the lake but that don't mean it ain't been tried. As far as cabins the only thing I know of is a place called Eagle Lake Resort or the one at Chotard Landing. Hope this helps a little
It was full of cat back in the late 90's and early 2000's
If you want, we'll send DD over Crappie fishing for ya. If there's a Cat, Gar, Drum, Stripe or Carp in the place, it won't take long for him to find them.

Yep, send DD on over. I need to know!
haven'tcaught a cat yet but have caught some nice blue gills and crappie. I'll be there a couple times over the next month
Maybe I should have also told y'all that I'm not planning on going until probably May or June. DD, when you do go, if you don't mind, can you tell me if there are any cabins or places to camp down there?
Thanks
eagle lake resort and chotard landing is all that is there unless something else gets built between now and the time you go brother
Here you go....

Looks like you can fish FFFD (jugs) at eagle if you have you name and address on them. I didn't read the whole document but that is what I got from scanning it. I would definitely use jugs for catfish. That is a real good way to fill up a boat fast. It works great on the rez. I use to chase the catfish there a good bit and the jugs were the best way to go. I use pool noodles. You can make four per noodle (bout 15 inches long). I tied two hooks to each with a weight at the bottom. Run them about 3 to 6 feet deep. The shallow ones seemed to do the best even in deep water. Throw them out and let the wind move them across a flat. I use a cast net to catch shad and cut them up. That always works best. If you can find some skipjack and cut that up it will work great too.
DoubleG
Just keep them out of my way when I go fishing there or they MAY get lost
Yo-yo's baited with night crawlers placed at the edge of the buck brush should catch them.
Tman- that's Eagle Lake Lodge and there is also a 6 unit resort but I can't remember the name. Maybe DD can get Nessa to write down the name and number and send it to you.
Heck, I MAY try it this weekend, not sure YET. I want to try a few more of then there piers that I haven't gotten to yet
I think Chotard is in my near future.
Maxwell Landing did have some camp sites.
I'd love to go back to Chotard, Dang Gar ran us off it last time
