I typically add either a couple apple peels or potatoe peels every 2-3 days.
Best case is you never need the peels.

Wet rolled up napkin and corn chips. Keep them warm.
I use wild game bird laying mash(contains no pesticide) from the feed store for food and non chlorinated water to water them. I have raised crickets for personal use for 25+ years
wet napkin and a peeled potato. The bird mash is a good idea.

Put some water in a bottle top (gatoraid) or a shallow jar lid and feed some corn meal in another lid.
Be sure the water is non chlorinated! Use pond water, well water or let the water sit out for a day or two to let the chlorine escape.
Orange slices and folded wet paper towels with destilled water, jar lids full of distilled water, wet crushed dog food, keep them in the shade and don't let the birds be able to get in the box.
