Well, actually, the trouble with kids on Saturday these days.
Gotta tell you. Hunting season really stinks this year. Hunted a good 2 hours and haven't killed one yet. It just ain't supposed to be this hard.

Well, obviously, Gottabe is a lost cause, but there is hope for Gonnabe. He takes his hunting about as serious as I do.

He is giving you the evil eye. You were suppose to put him on a deer!!!!!
Good night, brother. Bring 'em to Auntie CN's in MO.... they can just sit at the kitchen table, prop their rifle on the window ledge and shoot 'em as they walk up the driveway. Gotta be careful though, if you shoot too soon you might get two lined up just right and kill two with one shot. :( Or three like the neigbor kid "says" he did.
Typical deer stand conversation with Gottabe:
WB - There's a squirrel.
G2B - Can I shoot it?
WB - There's a bird.
G2B - Can I shoot it?
WB - No, that's not a deer, it's an acorn falling.
G2B - Can I shoot it?
WB - You're brother's asleep.
G2B - Can I shoot to wake him up?

Enjoy it while you can Chris.....they grow up way to fast.
Sounds like he would rather take up target shooting! haha... Most the youth I have brought in the past just like to pull the trigger and hear it go boom!
True, but if I let him shoot as much as he wants, I'd be broke and deaf. Then again, I'm sure he'd kill more deer that way. From the crossfire I mean.

your grass ain't green enough
So just ignore my post, Brother! I see how you are.... :(
The way I see it is, this'll be my last season to have to deer hunt. My oldest will be 16 next year and he can drive himself and his brother to the club. I will hunt only when I want to, not every single weekend. With that bein said, I never said I didn't enjoy bein with my kids. Jus satin I don't enjoy their hobby anymore. And that's sad too, cause 10 or 8 years ago I thought our club couldn't operate without me bein there. Now I could care less if I go or not. The kids is the only reason I go.
Missed your post Aunte CN. The trouble with your offer is that you're in MO. I sorta think it's an awful lot of troulble to drive 9 miles to the camp now. You'd be hard pressed to get me over 20 miles for a deer these days.
I'm right there with you Minner. Used to take it bad serious. Now, I keep looking at all those guns in the cabinet and thinking....that's a HDS10 right there.....and that one could be a 542 War Eagle.
Stewpit deer.

Funny how things change...huh Wannabe? When you and I was younger we used to to couldn't go over a couple days without gettin in a deer stand. I have gotten to where I don't care about deer hunting either.....would rather fish or squirrel hunt myself.
Buy Low, sell high. Actually, I've got one in particular that'd be worth a Predator. A 1962 Browing T-Bolt, Left handed. Only one ever made without factory sites. Had a guy offer my Dad 10K in '74 site unseen. Little dude will shoot the eyes out of a squirrel too.
Got several high dollar jobs...for what, I don't know. Coolest to me is a Remington 7MM Mag in BDL that we had rebarrelled by McMillan into a 338. Loaded a round of 200 shells for a Bear Hunt, took it to the range, put 3 in .33 inches, Next 3 rounds resulted in 2 bear and there it sits. Dangest thing. Can't think for the life of me why I'm keeping it. Very few bear around my house and never have seen a Moose the whole time I've lived here.
Honestly, none other than the Tbolt is all that remarkable, but have you priced guns lately? Dadgum...don't know how I'm going to afford to outfit the boys when it's time.

Yea know what you mean, I have got a Weatherby Mark V 270 mag that I bought new in 1986 that has not been shot since 1993.
I was big into shooting last year. Especially long range shooting (600 to 1200 yards). Sold several guns to buy the boat I got now. Still got my 600 yard tournament gun that has been real tempting to sale.... but I think I would regret it so I am holding on to that one.
This year is my first year to not deer hunt and try fishing all winter. I really like it a lot better. Keeps me moving. Change is a good thing.
Got the same one Creek. Mark V in 270 Weatherby Magnum. Weird thing is, I never did like the gun. Still don't.
Got a purty stock though.

Bet you would.
I've always said, guns were for buying, not for selling. Onliest time I ever went against that philosphy was with a Ruger Blackhawk in 44 Mag with a 10.5" barrel and a 1.5x Leupold scope. Couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with that hog leg and sold it to buy a T/C Contender in 30 Herrett. Mean shooting pistola that T/C was/is. Rebarrelled in 30/30 for the boys and that's the gun you see above with Gottabe. Still hate I sold the Blackhawk though. Big as it was, I figure I could have whipped a deer to death with it after I unloaded on it.

I got the same thing with a 7" barrel and can knock a horse fly off a horses booty without even moving a hair
I'd just like to point out that my barrel is longer than Triton's. That is all. Carry on.

Pipe down Minner. The adults are talking.

Bigger said he has pics and WB's truly is smaller than Tritons. Not sure how he got a pic of Tritons but MAY have been at the last camp when Triton was ummm, well, DEEP into the green cup
or tromping around on a sandbar in his skivvies....?
Skivvies? No ma'am, ole Triton said he was buck Nekid pushing his boat off'n that sandbar up at Horshoe on the rez. I'm so glad he didn't call me to come help him cause I'd have been scared for life after that
oh my!
Thanks for the assist Minner. I was away for a minute
Tell the truth DD. Does Triton have an innie or an outtie.
Wannabe...
PS..the sandbar was commando, it was cool so I needed warm dry clothes when I got back in the boat
Y'all just jealous cause you can't spare no to the shrinkage factor of the cold water
Yeah, yeah...the old shrinkage excuse again.

I said y'all, not me
