Hey fellow fisherman, There are tagged reward crappie in Lake Conway, Watch your fish closely, They are worth anywhere from $5 up to $100. Last week I was up on Gold Creek when I caught a white crappie about 12 inches long, as I was pulling it in the boat I notice something hanging off of the fish, I figured it was a leach or something, but upon closer investigation, (cause I was not letin some leach get my supper:D) I noted that it was to small to be a leach, and it was kinda scummy, I wiped it off and it is a bright chartruese fish tag with the AG&FC logo on it with a phone number and a tag number on it. when I pull the tag out of the fish I called it in to the AG&FC and they asked some questions about the fish, like what size, where it was caught, method of catch, did you keep it, and so forth. Well over the past weekend my dad was up there fishing and he caught one that was tagged also. Thats two in less than a week. I dont know when they tagged them and released them, my guess was going to be, that they were tagged fish released during the Crappie tournament on lake conway earlier this year but dont know for sure. Just wanting everyone to be aware they are out there. Anyone who duck hunts or bird hunts knows to watch for banded birds, but crappie fisherman dont see nothing but a plate full of fillets when they catch a fish if they are anything like me, take a fish off, get it in the livewell and catch another one as quickly as possible, there aint much time for admiration when you are trying to get supper for the table. A crappie fishermans admiration of the fish startes after they have cornmeal on them and they are on the dinner plate Ha! ha! Ha!. I have said it before, and I say it again " YOU CAN'T BEAT THE TASTE OF THEM OLE FRIED SLABS N TATERS ".:D:D:D
