Anybody have a picture of the fish they can post?
I checked the Okla Wildlife Department website and didn't see a Crappie bigger that 2.6 pounds listed for lake Eufaula, but then maybe they haven't updated the latest big catch yet.
I figured there were larger crappie than that being caught out of this lake and I am surprised the record could be set at 2.8 pounds. Do you guys remember the crappie with picture I posted last year that weighed 2lbs and 4 ounces? Attachment 48107
As you can see, this fish was only a little over 15 inches in length, but it was a hog as far as width.
I found out by being a fan of his page on facebook, it came through my live feed. I don't really agree with taking pictures from others facebook accounts, but here is the link to his page where you can find the picture. Welcome to Facebook
Very nice slab Crappie Stinkfinger, at least you posted a pic.
I was with Todd on Friday when he caught the fish. It was an absolute PIG! Todd is great to fish with and has taught us a lot about crappie fishing. We've caught a lot of fish on Eufaula and other lakes using the information and techniques we've learned from Todd. We've never been disappointed after a trip with him. I'd highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great trip on Eufaula.
Talked to Todd last night and congradulated him on the new lake record. He said this crappie has a very large fish in it's stomach and he thinks it's a Drum. He also stated that this crappie probably is in it's last year of life also confirmed by the ODWC, baseing this on the anal / belly growth. Just goes to show folks....anytime on the big-E it can happen.
A drum? Hmmm, mine had (2) 5oz lead weights in it's belly, have no idea how they got there....... muhawaahhhaa!:D
Stinks not tellin the whole story.....he packed it with dry rice and added water, more natural looking egg sack profile!
:):):)
