On Nissan frontier, stop and brake lights work fine on trailer, tail lights...no. Terminal for tail lights from truck is dead. Not shorted. Tail lights on truck work fine, pigtail connector block looks good. Now my trouble shooting skills are at an end. Is there a dedicated fuse for trailer tail lights only?? or do a have a problem further up the line??? :confused:
check the splice where the plug on the truck connects to the tail lights. sounds like it might have come apart there. that would leave the turn and brake lights still working.

As long as we are on this subject. Here is my Problem. I have trailer light's that are on but, when I hit my brakes they do not get brighter. Also the turn signals do not work on my trailer. everything work fine with my truck lights. 97 toyota. any idea's? Thanks.
Turn signals are usually the same circuit as brake lights. when you hit pedal both wires have power. Check at the truck plug if its ok there then keep moving back. Trailer plug trailer wiring etc. If no power at truck plug go forward.

My running lights went south a few weeks back. While chasing the prob, I found an abrasion where the pigtail comes out the front of the trailer with a broken wire- almost invisible. Fixed it, and will run anew pigtail in the future thru a piece of noodle to stop the abrasion. still had no lights. Chasing forward I wound up in the fusebox, this is a 2000 GMC Jimmy. Low and behold, I have a set of dedicated fuses for my trailer. One for left, right and running. This was a first for me and several others knew nothing of them either. Just some input. Don't stop chasing the source, and don't be surprised what you find.
Thanks for the input, found fuse blown for trailer lights. Now just have to figure what blew it!! Might have a bare wire somewhere, but can't find it measuring resistance to ungrounded trailer. Guess I will just replace fuse and see if another blows!
