[FONT="Impact"I took a day off from my Mayors race in Benton and my friend James Hudson and I tested Peckerwood to see if we could catch a crappie, we had a blast on peckerwood lake yesterday we caught alot of fish with several being 16 1/2 in range and they all averaged about 12in... Got pictures:

they have been doing real good for about 2 weeks now, have kept limit last 5 trips have not kept a fish under 12 in. going tomorrow for that 6 limit in a row.
What is the water level like?

closes oct 31st reopens feb 1st , you should be able to launch your boat with out any problem. caught that 6th limit ,2 friends followed me and both caught their limit, and the both went again today .one has called said he had his limit at 230pm. the other one started at 1230pm , at 400pm he had keep 20, i had a dr. appt. today but i will be there in the morning going for #7
New to the board and live in Searcy. Any chance you can give a novice on this lake a hint or two as to where and how you're catching crappie at Peckerwood? Have never fished it but my son and I are going to try it Saturday. I've followed the board for quite a while and finally created an account. Any additional information would be appreciated.

This will be my first time and I will be there on Saturday. I drive a white Tahoe with a winch and have a stick steering SeaArk, you cant miss me. If we meet on the ramp we can give each other phone # and start fishing. It sounds like their on. If we set a pattern we can call each other and leave with a limit. Looking foward to seeing you.
Ya'll launching at Hermans or Red Barn???? The pics of Hermans a few posts back looked rough.
I understand that Hermans is the only place available to launch with the low water. Red Barn launch is 50 feet from water. Haven't seen it but I was told it from a reputable source.Quote:

their is no size limit, fish limit 30 you can cull a limit to 12in or better if you fish hard. i wish ar. had a 10in size limit state wide their is nosence of keeping a crappie under 10in. but a lot of people do.
Went today and kept 12 crappie and 4 green carp. 4 of the crappie were nice. I left my camera at work so no pics.We used Hermans ramp but be careful its not the best but works. We caught all our fish in the channel. If anyone cares if you go northeast of the ramp the channel runs close to the bank on the left (west) side point. Fishing Tennessee Sunday with father and looking forward to it.

THERE ARE SOME WHOPPERS IN THERE!!! Good lookin catch!!! I heard it was getting warmed up over there!! Guess i will have to take a day off from hunting the refuge and head over there this week!! :)
caught another limit of nice fish today at peckerwood ,will try to post pictures tomorrow. shimmy , hate i missed you bobcat told me when he was leaving the ramp you pulled up but he didnt where you went?

I agree, with one exception. And that is what I call the "supper" rule. Freezer empty or nearly so and you just want enuff fish to cook for supper. I did this Sunday. One 12 inch and rest 8-10 inch. Kept 7 fish then everything else went back in water. Caught about 30 total.
And I would gladly do away with my "supper" rule if G&F would impose 10 inch limit!
