A quality split ring pliers is what you want. It won't make it easy but it will make it possible. Do not economize on this tool. Just google " slit ring pliers " the ones I u
use I got from this place.

I got a good pair. But them things are just to small for me.I like the #2's.They always work for me.
Xurons are pretty good and thats a great price for them, if thats the same ones I have!
I had a cheap pair of the Worth's that I've had for 20 years and recently I chipped them. I needed a pair real quick and got a pair of Eagle Claws that seem to work so far but I really want to get a really good pair.

I mainly use the #0 but for some smaller chub spinners of mine I use #00. They are small and it isn't easy but I use a small 1" long thin blade pocket knife. I slide the blade in between the rideges of the split ring. The blade holds it open enough for me to slide it on the split ring.Once I have it started I do the rest by hand. I don't believe a split ring pliers is made to handle a split ring that small.
Now I have never tried these, but they cost more than any I have tried, but you probably should call Worth and ask them if these are good for the really small ones like that.

Also I use the 2nd ones on this page (like these best for my use) and have a couple of the 3rd one down, but don't like them as much for my #2 rings and maybe they would be better for smaller ones, but I have never use #00 split rings. I would for sure call Worth about the first ones I gave a link to.

In my youth I was a watchmaker. So the small ???? o' rings are no problem. I use a thumbnail and put on the blade and then the jig no big problem. But maybe I just have small hands and can handle these small parts with ease.
