Torch, does the display on the remote light up when you push the "prop" button?
No, I can't get the red Autopilot light to come on now, it was coming on.
AP will not do anything while your boat is sitting still. Must be moving to work. Is your remote working with the other functions?(does it turn left nd right, speed up/down,etcc..?)
One more thing, when you replaced the batteries in the remote, did you use the exact one(think it must end in N) that it calls for? Some have had some problems over this.
It will not steer or anything. I took the top off and move the square box it it will try to work. The instructions said lock the square box in a tray but there is no tray with this kit.
Ya'll keep in mind, he's talking co-pilot, not I-pilot. Not sure how to test to see if it's getting signal there Torch....you got a contact that is an ASC you can get phone support from? Or ya might try MK customer service. I've got a couple of guys you can call if you don't.
Wannabe...
Not i-pilot?????????????? Why bother?
Ok this may be dumb but here it goes. Sats Terova is a 12v the autopilot he got is for a 24v. COULD THIS BE THE PROBLEM
I'm no electrical engineer but that could be a problem. I'll make a phone call for you. Are you sure the terrova is 12v?? Ok, just went the the MK web site & they do make 12v terrova.
Thanks Maj
Did you try and reset the learning button? I recently has to do this when I replaced my wrist control because of a crack in the housing that was allowing moisture to get inside and creating havoc.
Wait a second....There is no such thing as a 12V Model and a 24V Model for the Co-Pilot. There is a difference between Terrova, PDV2 and PD though. One does not work with the other.
On top of that, there is an autopilot module seperate from the Co-Pilot. So....which and what did you get? Is there a box with the product number on it?
Wannabe...
This came off a terrova 80 24v according to the cap that came with it.
I know you don't want to mix 12v & 24v stuff. A friend burned all the wiring out of his TM doing that. Be careful.
That's what I'm saying, they don't make a model specific to thrust on the Terrova. The same one that fits a Terrova 55 will fit a Terrova 101.
So...in the box, you got the little wireless remote, the plate that affixes to the side of the housing (co-pilot receiver) and the auto-pilot guts that go inside the head?

Press the learn button on the motor head while simultaneously operating the steer button on the remote.
Just got off phone with Minnkota and he says we are missing the reciever for the remotes.
A'ite. Now that's what I was starting to figure. OK, ya got the remotes, ya got the Auto Pilot Guts. Here's what I'm betting happened. The dude that sold it to you didn't realize there was more to it than what he gave your. The receiver is housed in a plastic box that bolts to the side of the TM over the part of the motor that you removed to get to the mounting holes. Contact the guy and explain that you're missing that part and I'll bet you he can take a look and realize the mistake. Here's a link to a pic of what you're missing.
MK-1866150-N minn-kota-1866150
That's what it looks like, but the link is actually to one that fits a V2.

you are 100% right Ole Wise one, he said he forgot to take it off and is shipping it. Also Sat went on and got the Ipilot.
That Sat is about impatient ain't he.....Oh well, ya'll can cut my Sis a deal on the Co-Pilot/Auto-Pilot when the Ipilot comes in. That way she can get that worfless 2 bit husband of hers to install the mothballed Terrova of hers. Bout time he showed himself to be useful. Be sure and give her the extra, super duper C.C MS OT discount though.

Great idea, Wannabe... 'cept for one thing..... It's my boat, therefore my toys and currently the coffers are M-T (empty). Maybe I should sell the Terrova and someone could buy Sat's stuff and have the full-meal deal! :)
OK, Torch, she's broke, so give her the full Wannabe discount. :)
Wannabe...
wait, this isn't gonna be one of those "don't fit" thingies is it?
Startin to look that way,LOL
What ya want fur the Terrova cause I know someone that might want it?
I'll have to ask if he wants to part with it. If he does, I'll find out a price. :)
Thought it were yourin?
I bought and paid for it as I do all my toys, yes. BUT......... he has an opinion. ;) Once it was a good one! :)
I asked a few months ago and he thought it would be a good idea to keep it for a just in case.......
:):):)
If ya decide to keep it and want the auto/co-pilot let me know cause I got the I pilot comin. May try the auto/co first but Major says to go I, will see.
Sat, don't even bother putting the other on, just wait for the i-pilot.
I hear ya maj! May need you to give me a leson or two on it!
I dunno Sat. If I was you, I'd try out the Co-Pilot 1st and then take a look at the brick that is the I-Pilot Remote. You may just like the Co better since it's light as a feather and very small since you're only going to be using it to Spider rig. I love the advanced GPS operated auto-pilot, but I sometimes think the remote is too large and gets in the way for spider rigging. 'Specially when I run over a stump or catch a catfish and get 27 lines tied together. Might give it a try before you switch over just to see if ya like the bitty remote more better. Then again, the Advanced Auto-Pilot and spot lock is just about worth it.
