Covering holes in the boat....

I mounted my new terrova Sunday.. Evidently there has been two previous trolling motors installed on this boat since I had a total of 10 holes in it. The motor covers most of them but three are not covered along with some scuff marks. Anyone got any ideas to cover them up? I could stick some bolts in them but was thinking something like the non-slip rubber on the right hand side of the boat would look nice. Yall know where I could get that kind of stuff or something like it?

That's fiberglass, right? There's a Fiberglass repair shop out off hwy 25, past Castlewoods, I think. Bet you can get some kinda Fiberglass repair bondo type stuff from them along with some paint

Your best bet is to stop in at a dealer and see if they have some. It can be found on the net, but it's a pain to locate on account of it being called everything under the sun.

Most people call it Non Skid....Most building supply places have it...it is used a lot on stair steps. You cut it to shape and peel the back off and stick it.

Some Wal-marts have it around here. :) Back in the marine section in these parts.

Ya'll are talkin' about non-skid tape. You can get that at NAPA. I'm talking about closed cell neoprene or the diamond cut rubber mat. This is Double we're talking about. And he don't do nothing low rent.

You can buy it tape sized but you can get it in wide rolls and also large sheets. It You can get it in black, rusty red, and white.

In which case, it'd be called Really Really Wide Non Skid Tape, which is essentially really really wide low rent.

Double go by RJ's marine and they can prolly hook you up fairly cheap. They hooked me up.

Trouble with the stuff is that if you don't buy it pre-cut to size, any trimming you do is gonna look like crap.

Thanks fellas.. I will call RJ's and see if they got a factor one cut like the one on the right hand side of the boat. They way I won't mess it up with scissors... I know my cutting ability would look like crap like Wannabe mentioned....

Btw... Did yall use the rubber spacers that came with your Terrova to mount it to your boat? I used them but thinking it might have been better not to... Without them it probably would have been more solid.

A good metal straight edge and a sharp Exacto Knife works very well.

do yall have a west marine around if so get you some marine jell back the hole some tape put the jell in the holes smooth out let dry it will dry and have shine built in works great in small like that

Didn't use the spacers on mine but had to mount it on a quick release mount to get it in the garage.

Thanks Major... I got my wire in yesterday and the breaker should be in today. Hopefully will have it hooked up before a go to sleep tonight!

Yesterday... I got some non skid pads that were 6"x12" from Duncan marine. I think they will work perfectly. Thanks for all the info...

I have a rivnut tool. Pop a rivnut in it then put a nice stainless screw in it.

If you have rubber belting business close by, ask them to cut you a piece of belting the same size of your new mount and place it between your boat and tm mount. This will cut down on all sorts of things such as vibration and interference with the transducer.

Well I covered up the holes with some non skid pad from duncan marine. I think it turned out pretty good. Thanks for the info...
