Thats better....I can see how the hold down mechanism works now. Very nice.
Do you want to make another set ? :)
What keeps the tips in the back holders while going down the road at 80 mph?
Tension between the rubber gasket. I think I'm gonna go back and add a small bungee to reduce puckerage at highway speed.
Had a buddy in CO make these for me. He's more honory than Crappieman101. I would ask him for ya, but I don't think I can stand the cussin.

After closer inspuction, I think closer spacing on the tip holder would eliminate the "bouncing" of the tips and coming out of the holder when traveling 80 mph down the road or on the lake. Nice try WB, but your still a failing gewber...........
Now, take that set off and mail to me for destruction of this very obvious pfft poor design. Then get busy building yourself another set.........geesshhhhhh.
Think about a fold down design this time as well!
Oh and maybe an alternating direction of the holder design would be nice to so the B's can place their poles in from the back seat................jeeeshhhhhhhhhh........do I have to think of everything for you?
Your design forces the guy up front to place all poles in the holders!
Now, mail me this thing so I can mount it, I meant destroy it!
Looks good!!
Someone take me a picture of the holders on the back of that boat. This white out picture thing gets old...
Scott.....are you interested in making some rod transport holders ?
Scott....PM sent
Yikes - I know, I'm just giving the allmighty WB, greater thinker of man-kind, the "All the thinking has been done" guru a little grief. Now maybe he'll send me this silly contraption so I can dispose of it properly!

You obviously have never fished with Be type guides have you Midsouth? It's constant I tell ya - Fetch my Rod, Bring me a Minner, Put my feesh in the cooler, Brang me a Red Twisty Top Kool Aide, Clean up that big red stain from my Red Twisty Top Kool Aide. Bad part is, I can't say nothing or they won't tip and they'll keep the fish.
Scott, copy all ya want. My guy just does it for grins and won't sell stuff anyhow. Honestly, these are way more design intensive than need be. Sat's are about as good and simple as a fella could want. Add a dove tail mount to his and you'd have something. Just don't tell him I said so.
Oh, and he's right. Needs to have a 10 pole limit. My holders on front have only 8 holdsers, so I had him only build 8 positions to reduce the height.

The nicest thing about the holder is it gets them off the deck so I can go in and out of the rod box for stuff. Everybody ought to have one. Maybe two.

You ever seen Sat's? Imagine the upright on an arc from the inside to the outside. Attached to the upright are welded on dowels maybe 3" long. He then bungies the rods down in the V created by the dowels. Safe, secure, flexible and easy to manufacture, charge way too much for and retire early with plenty of Ranger gas money.
With his, size of the obect doen't matter. He hangs his net and whatnot on his as well. I got pics I'll dig up.

OK, so I disremembered the way his actualy is and superimposed the way I'd like to see them done. Sue me.

OK watch it WB, I gots me a pattent on them!
I am not Aunery at all...very hospit able.
Sat and Wannabe.......on both of your boats....what is the distance between the two racks? How far apart are they in other words?
Sat has a fine rod holder for sure. I've seen it in person both in the parking lot and in action going across some nasty water and everything stayed safe and secure but for some reason it would make me awfully nervous knowing I had $300+ worth of rods hanging over the side of my boat intentionally.
Weird, it don't seem to bother you bouncin' that 2 bit partner of yours all over the place.
I think mine is right at 8' G. If memory serves, Sat's is 7'.

Thanks Chris #3
that I can lay them in the deck and still have plenty of room to walk around.
