Who do you think makes the best crappie trolling boat and why.
IMHO Ranger Fisherman or Angler Series hands down especially in rough water and or windy conditions.
the one with the most fish in live well
The one that's paid for.
Any except the ones I own. They dont catch crappie worth a flip! Lol
There are several good aluminum and fiberglass "Crappie Boats" out there on the market with pros and cons to all of them. If money is no issue, the higher end Triton and Ranger Fisherman are awesome. But a good crappie boat, in my opinion, is only as good as the way it is rigged out. It may cost a little extra, but go with the good stuff when buying accessories for crappie fishing. It will make your fishing experience more enjoyable and worth every penny.
It all depends on where and how you like to fish. Any water worthy boat 14' to 18' long...fiberglass or aluminum will work....it's how you set it up to fish...trolling motor, rod holders, fish finder and GPS that help put fish in the boat trolling.
To me how u fish is most important. For me the boat of choice would be the walleye style boats i.e. Fisherman, 217,219. If money was no object (yeah right) i would get a Ranger 620 Fisherman with 225 Etec.
Excellent choice on boat D.i. but leave them etechs alone or youll be back bank fishing.. mercury optimax on 2 strokes
No! You all wrong. The best fishing made is the 'TOM SAWYER' log raft.
There are too many of them out there and everybody thinks theirs is the best.
I tend to agree with most of what's been said....I've personally owned and fished out of a 12 foot jon boat, bass tracker III, stratos 217, and a Ranger 619. Barring the jon boat I've caught the same fish out of all these boats. The biggest advantage has been the room/comfort and the stability of them. With that being said that Ranger is a beast to haul up and down the road but once you sit it in the water it is awesome to fish out of...feel like I left something at home with all the room left over compared to my old stratos....
I second the Ranger Fisherman. (Old or New) I have a 692C 1986 Fisherman and would not trade it for anything expect a new 620. I have it set up for tightlining two people out the front (16 poles) and pull (16 poles) out the back with 2 people. Set up is key.
You Do...
Any stable boat will do, you do the rest,,,
PJ
Minnkota in my opinion
Who said that you need to go broke buying a good boat, regardless of which one you get there will be pros and cons. My 17ft alumium Weldcraft runs 35mph with an economical Mercury 50 4 stroke, and does every thing I need it to do. Its not as stable as a 3000lb fiberglass Vhull in rough water, but then I dont go out when its rough if I can help it. A medium trooling motor with 1 battery will trool for two days without charge. You can get a used one simular to it for around 5-6k, 20 years old 2-3k. You can almost always resale them for about what you paid for them, unless you tore something up. The only time you are going to get ripped off at the cash register is if you buy a new one. The value drops 30-40% ten minutes after closing the deal. So, go get yourself a reasonably priced boat and go fishing. You dont make memories on the Internet, They're made on the water.:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::c ool:
