Dern. The announcement came out just now that Triton Boats has been sold by Brunswick (Mercury) and production will be moved to Flippin Ark. That means Platinum Equity now owns Ranger, Stratos, Champion and now Triton too. The only independant builder of any size is now Basscat. Legend is coming on strong and Phoenix now has a following but Basscat is the only one left of any real size.

I'm betting ole Earl is gonna take the bankrole and go start another boat company in a year or two. Hope so anyway. Triton pushed the envelope with innovation. Most of the layout updates on the modern bass boat came from Triton and the rest copied them...Including Ranger. Built in cooler, step up deck, center seat options, seperate controls for seperate livewells, recessed pedal, built in boarding ladder, padded front deck, floating console...on and on.

BassCat is a nice boat... Kinda gettin like a Monopoly... Wonder if prices are gonna get EVEN more ridiculous... I'll admit the new technology is nice, but dang, those things cost more than my house!
Anybody priced an Allison XB2002 with a 250 Opti Pro XS? No? How about a Basscat Puma with same mota? Check out a Skeeter iclass with the Yammy 250SHO 4Stroke.
Buy any one of those and a tow vehicle made somewhere between 88 and 97 and you'd have more in it than my house. Pair of 10" HDSs and a Terrova and you can skip the tow truck and still get there.
Come to think of it, forgot about Skeeter in the mix. They're Yammy owned, but still stand alone.
