Do you have a contact number for someone who wants to join?
this is all I know ........looking for info myself......
Freddy Day
270 Kennedy Bridge Rd
Lancaster, KY 40444
(859) 548-9601
The name "Fred Day" rings a bell :p ... the house is on Kennedy Bridge Rd, and just down that road a short distance is "Fred Day Rd" :D (possibly his Father or Grandfather ?? )
I've passed by that house/road, probably a couple hundred times or more ... since it's the way I go to get to Herrington Lake.
I'm curious as to why Herrington Lake isn't listed as one of the lakes in their tourney trail
The website looks new (copyright 2010) and does not contain sufficient information (like : how much is the entry fee for a tourney ... and Regional/Classic Events are not explained ... and what's the breakdown of the prize money, other than the Big Fish money  ) .... so I'm guessing that this is a startup venture, and not an ongoing curcuit.
Find out what you can & report back to us !!
... cp
Crappie Pappy,
That number is no good. Do you have any other information?
I found that info on a reverse address lookup site. If you Google the number, you come up with the same address/person. Maybe that's why there's no contact number on the website  .... though, that does make it a bit on the "curious" side. You'd think there'd be SOME form of contact, other than a mailing address  I mean, they ask for YOUR phone number :p so they must be capable of contacting you by phone.
Maybe Freddy Day only uses a cell phone, and his home phone is no longer in service ?? I don't know ... everything I've used to find an address or phone number, comes up with the same info as previously posted.
Looks like we may have to use snail mail  to find out anything about this CKCA organization.
I'll do some more checking around, and see what I can scare up .... but, don't wait on me --- ;)
... cp
might have to take a lil ride down there and see if I can raise anybody ......there's alot of intrest in it for sure ....( give me a good excuse to pull the ol crusier out VRRRRooommmm
Ask about all the concerns that I've raised, along with any other questions you might have ;)
And tell him about Crappie.com :p
Can't say as I'm all that interested in $$ tourney fishing, myself ... but, I do think my questions are legit, and need answering, even if only for the benefit of the other members. ;) I'm more into fishing WITH, than fishing AGAINST :p
... cp
CP, I'm with you on the fishing with vs. fishing against, but if the stakes aren't to high, I wouldn't mind participating just to be able to fish other lakes and meet others.
I'm interested to find out more about this as well.
anybody find out anything new ?
I have hit a dead end! It would be nice if someone could find out something.
This info is from thier form they left on my windshield last weekend when we was at green river lake.

I went on the web site it doesn't say how much entry fees for the tournies are I'm ith everyone else who wants to fish with people and not against people but I'm all about a little friendly competition:D. I just would like to know about how much entry fees might be. If anyone knows let me know I'am gonna join if Ican get ahold of someone on one of these numbers but I'll be out of town for the Oct. tournies.
Tournaments entry fees are $40 per boat plus $10 to enter for big fish (optional.) Hope to see you for the September 11th tournament at Green River!
I know it's at Green River but where is the wiegh in and who do I sign up with and what are the rules; as many poles as you want or one pole? live bait or whatever? where do I sign up and when? Just want to know and I would love to fish the tourny just for the fact to get to know you guys but I want to know what the hecks going on and when!!?
Prefer sign ups before tournament date, but will accept them the day of- for this first tournament. Time is 7:00 Eastern Standard Time. It will start and finish at Holmes Bend Marina. Four poles per person max and live or artificial bait-your choice. Rules are the same as Crappie USA. All rules can be found on Home Page by clicking the rules link. To sign up beforehand and for more information you can call the Director at 859-326-7407 or also by calling 859-227-4505. We'll be glad to answer any questions you have and would really like to have you all join us. Will try to check back a little quicker this time to see if anyone on here has questions also.
I think it would go a long way towards adding members to your club, if you take pictures & file a report here, after the Sept 11th tourney (and the following tournies, as well).
Info like : number of boats/anglers participating, place & payout awards, and any info on techniques/baits used that the anglers are willing to divulge. You'll probably be putting something like that on your website .... but, you have a pretty captive/interested audience, right here, so you might want to stay as active on this site as you can ;) It not only helps your cause, but could potentially add members to both. With some of our members being in your club, and your club members being connected to this site (or joining as members) .... the word of mouth advertisement will be spread alot faster.
Plus, we have members that make/sell some of the finest baits going ... and available in custom orders (size, color, shape, etc).

way out of my price range. 100 bucks for two guys then 50 bucks to fish for 7 fish. I can buy a lot of bait and beer for that kind of money.
300 bucks to fish 4 tourneys is a lot of money for a small group to fish. I had rather get together for another fishing and cooking at the boat ramp again then waste my time fishing at cumberland for crappie.

Good point.........
How was the Crappie Tournament today?
good deal.......theres going to be a larger number the next time out as this club catches on .......Good job Central Kentucky Crappie Association :)
How many boats were entered?
13 boats were entered in this one!! Thats pretty darn good considering not a lot of people knew about it. I think this will be real popular when it catches on
Considering the bad weather before the tournament start and the terrible weather just at the end, it was a great turn out. There were 13 boats entered. Ten weighed in 7 fish each, two had 6 fish each, and one was unable to finish.
Congrats to the team of Goforth & Goforth who weighed in 7 fish with an weight of 6.40. Second place went to the team of Noe & Baker with 4.94 and third place went to Boyd & Woodard with 4.82. The Big Fish payout went to Baker & Noe with a crappie weighing 1.34.
Sorry we weren't able to get any pictures this first tournament due to the NASTY storm that blew just as the last fish were being weighed. Really wanted to chat with everyone and grill out to get acquainted with everbody but the weather unloaded pretty bad. Hopefully everything will go a little smoother and the weather will cooperate better at the Taylorsville Tourney on September 25. Hope to see you there! Check the Central Kentucky Crappie Association website for all weighings, placings, and tourney info. Please feel free to call the numbers on the website or listed in a previous posting on this forum and we'll be glad to answer any questions you have also.
Thanks and Catch Big Slabs!!!
Just wanted to let everyone know that the Central Kentucky Crappie Association tournament at Possum Ridge boat ramp at Taylorsville Lake this Saturday, September 25, has been changed to Chowning boat Ramp due to a large bass tournament from Possum Ridge ramp scheduled at the same time. Same date and time---just a different ramp. Apologize for any inconvenience, but we felt it would just be too confusing and inconvenient to launch both tournaments at the same time from the same ramp. Hope to see you there. Good luck and catch big slabs!
Hello Crappie Clan. We had a beautiful day for the Taylorsville tournament and a good turnout with 12 boats. The crappie were up a lot shallower than we thought and most of the fish that weighed in were Black Crappie. Congratulations to all of the winners. 1st place went to Hamner-Coulter with 6.38 lbs. and they also won the big fish pay out. 2nd place went to Major-Hale with 4.98 lbs. and 3rd place was taken by the team of Ashford-Terry with 4.82 lbs. Looks like it's going to be good weather for the Cumberland Lake tournament next weekend. It's not too late to join. You only have to fish 6 tournaments to qualify for the fish off in the spring. We'd love to have ya! Hope to see you there.
Good luck and catch big slabs!
The tournament at Cumberland lake turned out to be a good one. The CKCA is doing a fantastic job !! Those guys are great people and they do care about the world of crappie fishing . They handle all of your questions and they are honest people .They truely are sincere about the sport and are not doing it for the money . As you see ,every dime ,all but what it takes for stamps ,envelopes, etc. . Goes back to the angler . Soon this will be in my mind . The up and coming Crappie USA. As I was talking to one of the Directors. He told me . That it is very possible that thier fish off in the spring . Could have close to $5,000 in prize money !! That aint hay! So why not ask yourselves ? Why not join in on the fun? I highly recomend that you join the CKCA. They soon will be the front runners in the crappie world. You crappie fisherman really need to look into this more . If you have any questions call 859-326-7407 or 859-548-2101 .Thanks
Hey Crappie Fishermen,
Sorry I didn't get back sooner with results on the Cumberland tournament, but here they are:
1st Hale & Major, 2nd Freddy Day (fishing by himself), 3rd-Goforth & Goforth. Big Fish-Goforth & Goforth
Only 9 boats turned out for the Cumberland tourney which was a shame because the quality of fish caught turned out to be a lot better than I expected. Cumberland has got a lot of good fish, but seems like it just needs more structures for them to get even better.
So now on to the results for the Green River tournament of October 16th:
1st Weber & Beasley with 4.47, 2nd Cochran & Cochran (a father and young son who signed up just that morning) 4.27, and 3rd went to Rogers & Buchanan with 4.19. Big Fish went to Weber & Beasley. The fishing seemed to be tougher this time at Green River, but good numbers were still caught.
There will be an Open Tournament hosted by CKCA on October 30th at Holmes Bend Marina-Green River. It will be a great opportunity to check out the CKCA and see how we run our little tournaments and maybe sign up and get in on the fun. :)
Good Luck and Catch Big Slabs!
