Not bad, thanks for the report!
how late were u out there? and were u in the channle
were they shallow or deep and i think me and a buddy are going to go try our luck on saturday night
How were you holding you mouth?
I'd like to know how you guys keep minnows alive in this heat?
well u kinda got make a froun and try tolike your nose at the same time :)
and lots of ice and cold beer :) or pop :)
I use a 32 quart ice chest with an aerator. Keep water between 50 and 55 degrees with frozen beverage bottles and add a couple cap fulls of hydrogen peroxide to the water.
Hey Stink it also helps if you keep your finger out of the water.
Provides oxygen.
Plenty of Crappie available in 15-20 fow around structure fishing just off the bottom with minnows.
thats the good thing about thunderbird....you can catch 5 inch crappie all day till you are sick off it....too bad thats all thats in there
Ah, come on lazylakedog, there are a few 7" and 8" ones left.:)
Went out yesterday just east of Denver Point. Fished for about 5 hours. It was a little slow until I started using that Gulp garlic spray stuff. My son had left some in the boat and I thought what the heck. It worked.

dang chuck thats a nice mess of tbird crappie. you mind filling us in on the details of how you caught them? i.e. depth caught in how many feet of water, type of structure? i been catchin some slow trolling the road bed with jigs but no nice ones like those.
There are two fishing buoys just east of Denver point. I was fishing between them in around 13 fow. I was fishing about 8 feet down. Using minnows and and a minnow looking tube jig. Put the garlic stuff on both.:)
o so you werent catching them directly in any structure? just between the two brushpiles?
and i ment to ask, how big was the biggest you caught?
I was over a brushpile or rockpile or whatever was down there. I left a couple of hooks in it. I was closer to the south bouy. The largest one was 13 1/2"
sweet.... thanks for the info chuck
what is the water temp now at t-bird?
3 weeks ago after we got all that rain from the Gulf it was 77 degrees. Monday when I was out it was 82 degrees.
redneck there are several brush piles between the two bouys some to the east and some two the west of the straight line between them, I scoped out the area with the side scan when the temps are right you can do real good in that area. my favorite spot is in the middle of the bouys to the west side of the line its a pretty large pile. good luck and good fishing.
thanks grubby. havent talked to ya in a while. hope all is well. i recently got a boat so maybe i can repay you for takin me out. or we can meet on the water sometime and really cover some water
sounds good to me. I haven't been out lately. I did go out and check out Wes Watkins. Mcloud now owns the lake and they dropped the fees on the lake and it shure looks like it could be full of crappie. The bait shop on fishmarket road on the south side of the lake has a picture of some big crappie that were caught on the 20th of August they all looked 10 in. or bigger. May fish that lake some since Drapper is closed.
Just recieved a good report from T-bird. A friend just caught 20 crappie over 10 inches that he kept and several dinks so the fishing might be picking up do to the cooler temps. Not sure what part of the lake he was on but he usually fishes the standing trees in the coves.
so has any one had any luck on Tbird since the 26th im going to Tbird on the 1st around noon or so figured i would be hitting on the points and trees and stuff
I havent been since sunday the 26th but they were in the trees and brush. should be biting good with these cooler temps. let us know how you do. i will report back next week after i fish on sunday since its the only day i can go now that college football consumes my saturday.
Been WAYYY to long since I've fished at all! BUT starting Sunday I will be changing to a new route and work schedule which will put me working in Norman on Wednesdays from 10a-2p I am planning on having my boat hooked to my truck and proceeding on over to Tbird!! I will try to post on here when I go in case anyone wants to meet me as I will be alone and I hate catching them all myself!! :)
water temp at Tbird is 76.6 right now and no bites yet :(
no bites yet? does that mean you are posting while fishing? now thats dedication
yes i was posting while fishing :D got to love the iphone ;) well the temp ended up being 79.0-80.0 almost ever where on the lake and i end up catching 1 sandy 1 bass and 1 crappie and ended up getting a good sunburn :) but had fun wish i could have stayed longer. and i also became a stump hunter :) i actually caught the bass and crappie on stumps in about 6ft of water
any one been to Tbird lately or heard what the water temp is?
Hey Josh, me and a buddy was out today. Water temp started out about 66 at 7:30 this morning and rose to 70 by 2:00. Crappie were slow. We caught 28 total. Nothing very big. Most on minnows over structure, some trolling with crackbaits.
Went out yesterday. Started shallow but couldn't find them. Finally found them in 18 fow. Cleaned 25 all over 10". Ended up with 3 1/2 lbs of fillets. Caught around 50-60 total. Had one nice 14"er.
