We got Julia's deer mount back.

The taxidermist called and said that we could go pick up her mount, but she was in Houston and I wanted her to be there when we went get it. Just so happened that we got rained out wednesday, so instead of laying around the house all day, we took a road trip to Houston and picked up my daughter from her uncle's house, then on the way home, turned off in Lake Charles and headed to Deridder to get it. Talk about a long day, 460 miles of driving and about 300 of that was in the rain. But it was worth it for her to be there.
I got the new HTC EVO 4G phone from Sprint, I am impressed with the picture quality.

Thanks for the comments. Mo she killed it in the Dewy Wills reserve January 10th.

That is a nice deer for public land. Was that on one of the lottery draw youth hunts? I put my daughter in for several dates and on 3 different WMA's and didn't get chosen for any.

that is one fine mount you have their i like the pink in the noes it looks alive that is one she can give all the boys the heat over and be proud about it get one bigger this season

johnny, what month do you apply for that hunt? I have a camp there and would like to apply for my son to go on the youth hunt. I didn't see any info yet on LDWF website.

Yes it was on a lottery youth hunt.. I put her in for 5 and she got picked for 2, Sherburne where she killed her first one, a 92lb doe, and the Dewey Wills one where she killed this 215lb 8 point. When you fill them out, i think they mainly want you to pick 1 date for each. You have to read it very carefully. I may be mistaken but if i remember right, that's how it is.

I am not sure on the exact date, it's on their website under hunting, wma/refuges, then lottery hunts, but it only lists the upcoming lottery hunts, right now is too early, right now all they have is a turkey hunt at Peasant Ridge and a few alligator hunts listed.
