Good deal torch, we're going to try our first cranking trip this coming weekend at Enid.
Any pointers would be appreciated.
Didnt happen cause they are already cleaned and dispursed. Daughter and son in law, Son and daughter in law, and the local painter. I got just enough left for supper tonight!
Found them early in 16-18 fow from state park to long branch. Later on they moved into 18-20. Slow trollin cranks 1.8 mph
Thanks Sat, we're working on a day trip down for Tuesday.
I am going over Friday and will be cmping all weekend at State Park. Plan on catching some more Sat Sun Mon.
But your Son caught all those fish this am. must not have been much to them. Ha Ha
BREAM and Green Carp, Phooooooey!
Hey Torch, what kind of boat do I need to look for? I guess you will be pulling crankbaits?
We will be in a 16' X 50" flat bottom Alumaweld with a 60 HP Mercury on it, trying to pull some crankbaits.
I am in a Bass Tracker with a 75 Mariner and 4.5 Johnson kicker.
I will be the guy with all his lines tangled up. :D
Ha Ha I think everyone gets them tangled from time to time.
I had a buddy and a guy that works with him head down today and I plan to be down tomorrow about 3:00 or so.
I went and borrowed a 2.5 HP Nissian from a buddy, I hope I have enough room to mount it on the transom.
I got 6 of my old bass rods out and put some line on two of them, I have braided on some of the others.
I got my two plano boxes with my old bass crankbaits out and yeap I had some water in one of them and I had some rusty hooks and it had to be in the hole the bandits were in. Oh boy.
I thought I had more 300 bandits, but I seem to have more 200's and 100's.
I have a few others tied on so we will see.
Stay tuned, cussing fit to follow I'm sure.
200"s work but you got to let more line out to get them deep. The hooks are pretty easy to change out.
Dodgeman, I have been using Wally Marshall crappie cranks. They only have about 12 colors and can get them for less than 3.00 on sale. I think they are 3.49 regular price. 3 colros on Enid that will catch them "Pinky Toe", "Ole Miss". and Bubble Gum" Oh I forgot there are 4, the last one being "Black Craw".
Thanks Torch, I will add them to my list.
My trip fell through, my buddy down there caught 6 this morning and the older guy he had fishing with him got sick and they are headed in so I didn't want to come down and fish by myself, but I'm working on coming down on Thursday and fishing the weekend. I hope.
