Make sure you put "Made In The USA" on them. Get a little revenge! Ha! Sorry PBug, I can't help you, I haven't sold one in the USA yet.
Have not done that yet. Check with Keith and Jessica Pace at Microspoons. They may be able to help some.
i got a guy in austrialia wanting about 30...
no he said trout fishing...myself didnt know of freshwater trout in austrialia but i guess there is lol..i was just wondering if there was alot of paperwork, customs slips and stuff
Let's put another shrimp on the barbi! that's cool Jason how did he hear about your buggs?
internet search
Haven't sold any jigs, but a lot of different items through ebay. Anything under 4 pounds only require a small customs form, over that the form is longer. Only takes a minute to fill out. I dosen't matter what I sell I always mark it as a gift. All you have to do is say what is in the package and they never say a word.
I have no want to when it comes to selling out of this country and don't know a thing about it, Sorry!

thanks guys.
I sold a couple of jig molds on ebay to a guy in Asia. A few weeks later he contacted me claiming he never got the molds. I asked him to give it more time.A week or so goes by and he contacted me again asking about the molds. I ended up reimbursing him for the molds.I didn't want negative feedback.. I was out the money and the molds. Needless to say I will not ship anything outside the u.s. and canada ever again. I won't trust anyone outside this country. I wouldn't ship out anything I couldn't afford to lose.
thanks jjj, is there no way to send it where they have to sign for it..you know like registered mail or would it be to much money? i just thought it would be cool to have jigs in austrailia. i got them in alaska an hawaii, and iraq..
i think i may decide against it..
what about fed ex to them? just throwing ideas out there..
Get your money. Put them in a box. Use the postal service sending them air mail. Have a happy fisherman in Australia.
I'd be ok with shipping to Australia, Canada, and the UK personally, and a few other European countries, but no way I'd ship to anywhere in Asia, Mexico, Africa, ect...too many scammers and their mail service is subpar.
Jason,I sold an Ugley Stik White Tiger to a guy in Sydney and all I did was ship it to him.It went through in about 3 weeks.Get paid first, lol.
USPS has a flat rate international box and has the optin to have a certificate of mailing. If this includes the address sent to and your name then I don't see a problem with verifying that you at least mailed it. It does have an option for registed mail but that takes shipping to well over $20.
Sounds like some expensive jigs!
Hi there from Australia. Wasn't me who ordered those jigs, but I can understand why that bloke did: there's some damn fine jig makers among you lot and tiny hair/feather jigs are virtually impossible to find in Orstraya.
What you can find in Oz is trout, despite it being the world's driest continent. There's a dividing range of mountains which runs down the east coast and many of the rivers (you'd call em creeks, they ain't exactly large) and streams carry both browns and rainbows. I live at a beach suburb in Sydney and an hour and a half's drive west, in the Blue Mountains, there's trout to about 8 pounds in a series of dams, and smaller versions in some divine wild, cobblestone creeks and streams. We are just emerging from a devastating decade long drought and by all reports the trout appreciate the return of something called, I think, rain!!
Then of course there's Tasmania, home to some of the best wild brown and rainbow fishing in the world. We also have several native freshwater species (trout were introduced) like Australian bass and yellowbelly which adore a little jig.
Away from trout and swetwater fish, I've been making (some very average) leadhead jigs for about 20 years and love it. Until a few years ago it was almost imposible to find even decent bare lead heads, but soft plastics were popularised by a couple of well known fishing writers here and soft plastics fishing has absolutely boomed. That means I can actually find OK jigheads in my local tackle stores, instead of ordering them from overseas (you want an example of obsession: getting lead sent by air freight! Idiot, I am!). But finding any style of hair/father jig, big or small, is still very very difficult.
The light and ultra-light jig styles you guys make for your beautiful freshwater species also work wonders here in Sydney for salt species. You guys would have a ball jigging for (and i'll try to use American names) rat yellowtails, small amberjacks and juvenile samson fish, small bluefish (maybe use tiny spoons instead, they have the same sharp teeth as US bluefish), a few species of jacks, yellowfin and black bream, a few types of flatfish, Australian salmon and the list goes on. It can be fun casting a jig out to the FADs dotted off the coast which are home in summer and autumn (fall) to very small school mahi mahi, bonito, skipjack tuna, too.
Anyway just wanted to say the site is an inspiration to a jig maker and ultra light fan who's never seen a cappie in the flesh and you may be surprised who perves on the site! Cheers
