Get in touch with TnT and he will let ya know the best stuff cause he done a fantastic job on his boat. Heck his boat looked new when he got thru with his.
Thanks, I sent him a PM, to call me.
Please Post The Answer.....i Have A Boat In Need. Thanks
i clean the water line stain with WHINX. it is used to take stains out of clothes .was in a brown bottle but have changed it can`t remember to what .you have to spray it on and the stain will disappear
On my boat, I used rubbing compound and elbow grease to remove the oxidation. A good buffer would probably be a plus...Then I cleaned it real good to remove all of the rubbing compound. There was still some oxidation left so I took a sander to it and removed the gelcoat down to the paint..In some places I went too far:eek:(I'm sure this wasn't the professional way to do it, but it got the job done for me...Heck, it's just a fishing boat:D)..I cleaned it real good again and then I put about 10 coats of Poli-Glow Boat Polish on it. It turned out real good but time will tell how long it will last. The directions said to re-apply 2-3 coats every year. Here are some before and after pics of the finish before the seats and accessories were put back in it::

Great Job, boat looks really nice !
After stain removal use 1000 grit wet or dry sand paper with plenty of water. Be careful not to sand through the gel coat. You should end with a dull oxidation free finish. Next use either rubbing or polishing compound. The choice depends on how dull the finish is.
You may have to start with rubbing then go to polishing compound. After the polishing compound there should be some signs of a shine. If you can lay your hands on a good buffer the polishing compound will give a shine. Next a wax/polish such as Turtle Wax. hit it hard with a buffer and you should have a good shine. In order to maintain the finish wax every six months or she will rapidly oxidize. Most people that are serious about appearance will paint. Good marine paint may last eight-ten years with out maintenance.
However good marine paint is expensive. $20-50.00 a quart. If you have gel coat with glitter (as above) just polish and wax every six months. Old boats is kinda my hobby. most of mine I just paint, however I don't have any with glitter.
