Has anyone been catching anything since the tornado went through? I've been out several times and it seems to be extremely slow.
the saturday that they reopened Tbird back up me and the little brother went out and caught a bunch of little ones and a saugeye but nothing to speak of caught them off shad colors and as we were working our way back to the dock a ODWL guy came around and was asking everyone how they were doing and i told them how we were doing and he told me that from everyone he talk to that we were the one of the few that did any good up till that point. but since then havent been doing so well
I'm planning on hitting tbird Wed and/or Thurs. Hoping its settled some from the storm and fishing back to normal! Does anyone know how a storm like that affects the fish?
i think its slowed down if your going to be jigging take some shad colors with you
My two fishing buds and I caught 67 crappie on structure in 12 ft water, not big, but we keep anything over 6 inches. They taste just as good as a 14 inch one. We also trolled out by the water plant and caught 5 giant sand bass and two 4 1/2 lb blue cats. All and all a nice morning mid afternoon of fishing. Surprised about all the boats out and mostl left by 1 pm.
good job bud.....and thanks for keeping those dinks....i can go out there and catch a hundred fish but everyone is a dink.....they are fun to catch, but seeing how I don't even eat the big ones I would like to see some of the little ones gone
Bud, thanks for reporting. Great to hear of someone doing really good. Can you let us know what bait you where catching the different species on? Thinking of hitting up Thunderbird Fri or Sat. Will report back if I do.
you guys fishing on the weekends, keep in mind that Draper is closed for two years...that means all the jet skis and skiers from there will be joining the hundreds of jet skis that normally bless thunderbird.....i pretty much only fish during the week.
ya i mostly just fish early morning just as the sun comes up and im usually gone by noon every time ive been out i dont see a lot of skiers/jet skiers but havent been on the lake in about a month i usually go up little river
Chuck we were fishing minnows in 12 ft water on structure for the crappie, altho while it was slow I did catch about 4 or 5 on jigs. We trolled for the sandy's and blue's. Used deep diving bomber A's in fire tiger color. Sandy's came from the flats just south of the old river channel in about 18 ft water. Started crappie fishing about 9 and trolling about 12:30 and quit about 2:30. Good luck
Fished tbird Tues. with my buddy from BA. 4 locations, under the bridge, around a dock, and a couple spots with standing timber. All 13' + of water with the fish suspended 5-10. Caught em in all 4 places, never was what i would call hot and heavy , but steady at each spot. Used mainly minnows did manage a few on jigs with most of those coming on a black pink white tube.
Took the grandson out today, Saturday, made it easy on us by just going to the dock and let him reel in about 20 over about 3 hrs with a swimming session in between. Not a bad couple days. I'll probably be back out there Wed or Thurs to see if they are still biting.
Good job, boat! Sounds like a fun time was had by all!!! Took my son (he's 28) and two of his buddies out Saturday night. We fished under floating lights on a point between Denver Point and Water Treatment Plant. We caught 3 real nice crappie, 3 real nice sand bass, and a 2 lb channel cat. We didn't catch a lot but what we did were fairly nice. Hope to get back out this week. Thanks for reporting.
hey boat42, what do u mean by the dock? are you talking about the dock fishing pier at fishermans point?
