Were exactly was that marker? I don't want to run over it in March.;)
good catch guys. If you throw the marker in the brush and they quit biting just go shake the marker.:D
Shhhhh Its A Secret But Dont Rely On These Numbers To Get On Any Crappie- There Is Lots Of Bass (sea) Too.

the marker was in grassy cr. sec of buggs. you guys better look out for ol'dave. he has added another weapon to his arsenal! countin down!!!and dave, just cause you hook the marker every time don't mean its too close, it means you castin to close to it!!!i alway attempt to throw marker on shallow side of brush...key word ATTEMPT! really enjoyed fishin with you too dave, lookin forward to next time!
Nice mess of crappie. Catchin the marker is just a minor inconvenience when
you are workin on a mess like that I would think.!!
Jeff
I think your right Jeff. Hell at this point I wouldn't care if I broke off every other fish and had to tie on another jig. :( It was nice Monday just being out there with the weather being like it was.Quote:

dave's got it rite...but ain't as easy as i make it look!!!
You just need to count a little slower.;) The last couple of parts are very true. I can't count (pun intended) the times I saw the bite and set the hook without ever feeling the fish. It takes a great deal of effort and experience to do it right.Quote:

I figured that was what ya'll were talking about but I wanted to be sure. Now as far as types of jigs and fall rate, I've never been too good at this that's why I use a float most times. However A year ago I wanted to know my "true" fall rate of my set up with 5 of my favorite jigs. I must say there was very suttle differance's in the fall. But those where just 5 of the many differant types of jigs. My opinion (not that I was asked) is that if you want to know how your jigs look/ move/ or fall through the water with the line you use, then find a pool or other clear water. But like I said it was to complicated, then again with the numbers ya'll catch I will go back to it.
reelfun, i cast and count when fishin specific objects (brushpiles, laydowns, end of old roadbeds, etc...) but when they scatter on the flats before spawning i troll...flatliing or titeling or pulling corks..just match proper technique to prevailing conditions and you'll catch'em!!
