I always just run cold water over mine till they thaw out.
I just fill up one side of my kitchen sink with luke warm water. A solid block of ice will melt in about an hour.
Set it on the counter for a couple hours. I freeze mine in ziploc bags and thaw this way all the time. I put the bag in a bowl so I won't have water all over the place. Don't go off and leave it out all day, but 2 - 3 hours won't hurt a thing. Just my .02, but if you thaw in water, the fillets get mushy.
what pigpin says!!
Same as pig
I freeze mine in a ziplock bag filled with water and with all the air burped out. I thaw them by putting the bag in the sink and filling up the sink with cool water. They thaw fairly fast. If I really have to thaw in a hurry I run water over them in the sink until they thaw out.
put em in a sink, pan or bucket with cold water STILL SEALED IN the zip loc bag. they will soon thaw out.
Before you freeze the filet, insert a wooden tongue depressor into it. Then, when you're ready to eat, just take of the freezer bag and you have a crappie popsicle. Easy.
