OK, Battery talk

My old Nitro is SUPPOSIDLY sold and the guy will pick it up wednesday. I know I need 1 new battery for my TM cause when I switch from 12 to 24 volt, it does not change how much thrust it puts out. Also know that I need a new cranking battery cause just sitting for a couple days, it'll lose about 1/2 it's charge. Anything special that I need to look for on the cranking battery? What about all that banks talk for the TM battery? I'm going to get someone to look at it and install it due to the fact that I have an inline charger and it's not charging squat. I hope it's just a loose wire or something but I just don't know much bout it

Get a VOM and hook it to the OBC and see what it is putting out voltwise. If not putting out at least 13.5 v , Get a new one

I know what the on board charger does and it ain't doing it. It also has a plug in for an extension cord to charge both when sitting at the house and it just ain't doing it. Seeing as they sit in a slot, do I just need to measyre it and see just how big a battery will fit?

Sit in a slot? That sounds awful close to an insult to me. But I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt.

Most OBC have inline fuses - have you checked them? Have you metered the batteries and charger? Meter the battery, record results, plug up charger, meter the leads connected to the battery and record the results.

When was the last time you checked the water in those batts? Never mind, I know the answer. Top them off with distilled water only, then recheck everything.

If you have to swap them out (what's the age by the way) ignore the stewpit "slots" - they're called battery trays ya idjit. If you have room for 2 group 31s - do it and change out the slots. Bwahahahahaha. So, measure to see if you can get them in there, if not, go to 29s, if not, take a hammer and beat enough fiberglass out of the way to squeeze the 29s in there. A pair of 27s just ain't gonna cut it for ya long term.

You need a minimum of a group 27 cranker and I'd rather see a 29 in there BTW.

Naw, what you need to do is jusst guess at the size and then go buy the biggest one you think will go in there. The next step when you get home will be to then measure and then carry the one you just bought back and say "I'm a gewber, like WB said, I bought the wrong battery.":p

I ended up with 6 of them dudes, can not wait to go catfishing now. I just wish I would have thought about keeping them sooner. I threw back another 6 or 8.

We ended up with 18 big bream is all. Did have some of those Chest bream, you got to hold them against yo chest to take the hook out. Even picked up a couple on the flyrod!!!! BTW, they were shallow yesterday and up under the over hanging tree limbs. I got hung up ALOT

Oh yea DD, dont ferget what some wise feller on here said back about 28, 43 and 59 threads ago. Use the dielectic grease on your obc terminals, fctm terminals and ff terminals. Mite even work on yo dentures to get a better connection since yo gums flap so much. Jus sayin.
