Kept 53 gills and 9 crackers, all caught on jig bodies I poured. About 3 hours of fishing...It was a nice day. We probably threw half that amount back.

When using jigs for bluegill and redears, do you put them under your cork? I'm just now starting to get into artificials for panfish, and I put them under the cork but also straight line them and slow roll on bottom.
We have caught a few gills and ears using jigs, small plastics etc, but I'm still a redworm believer.
Used jigs about 16 inches below a split shot tipped with gulp waxies. Slow retrieve with stopping every once in a while.
We've been into them the last two days as well. My back is still hurting from the 2 cleaning sessions.
Nice haul, Mep. You guys still in the area where you've been fishing?
Good Work Mepp....if it wasnt for the 6 hour drive to get there from here...lol...
Good looking bunch of fish, congrats!
Great day on the lake, very nice catch.
Thanks for replying Fishie. We found a few new spots that we are trying not to rape and pillage too bad. Once Fishtale gets on a hole he doesn't want to leave until they stop biting or until we've caught the last one. It's a good thing we throw females back or there wouldn't be any gills left in the lake!
A lot of our stuff has been invaded this year by our neighbors to the south. They must have caught all of theirs already and started heading north. I don't ever remember seeing that many TN boats fishing in the area that we frequent but they are thick this year. Maybe I need to head south and seine some of their water. From the looks of it, it may be less crowded. :D
