satdoc uses a trolling plate. Yep your right ....no need for buckets.
Yep, work like a charm. Just look odder than DD in his speedos. Some things just shouldn't be.

for when you want it to turn and sometimes it don't that well. I think I'm gonna get some 1/4 inch steel plates and bolt it on the trolling plate so that crank gets fixed and put it on the Bay boat. TIRED of chunking out 5 buckets to get down to 1.8 to 2 MPH BTW, Wannabe, I threw out the Speedo's, just don't wear nuttin no mo
Ewwwwwww!!!!
Thinking we may go down to Ross Barnett and camp out Friday night and MAYBE Saturday night. That is if they ain't messed the lake up. Either there or Claude Bennett, one of the 2
Torch and I both have the Troll-a-matic plate and it does work great. It is a lot better than the Happy Troller that DD has, just sayin.
Where did you and Torch get your trolling plates Sat?
Sat, and/or Torch. I read some product reviews on the Cabela's site & the only negative was a loss of top end of about 5mph. Did either of you experience this?
I lost maybe 2-3, not enough to worry about.
I lost about 5 with the Happy troller on the Nitro. It would go 57 and then only 52 afterwards but it's still worth it. After you've chunked out 5 buckets a dozen or so times to get down to just under 2 MPH, you get tired of it REAL QUICK. I will give ole Feelay this though, he figured out the full of water dumping thing though, He drilled a bunch of holes it them. LOL
Here's the thing. Technically, you should see zero performance difference with and without the plate. That's what they will tell you. However, that assumes you've maxed out the HP on your hull and you've got it set up well enough that the cavitation plate surfaces at WOT. Assuming this is the case, you will see no mph difference. In the real world, you will get some drag and it will drop your max speed. The amount will depend on the set up.

Troll-o-matic ordered. Lots of oxy left.
When you mount it Maj , Just be sure to mount it straight and not with a offset. It will make the boat pull to one side.
GO MAJ!!!! Let the oxy work
and add up (counting boats) just what you done spent on fishing since you found this board. LOL
