I hate tying these as they are a pain in the (___!___) . But they do work and so I suffer thru them . Getting to be where I have to hire someone to hold a gun on me to make me tie them.

some guys like to use smaller blades but I use a 1 for these and even 2 blade sizes for these. Sometimes I color code to jighead sometimes not.
Seems like whatever you do to them they will catch fish. might have to try the infamous " electric chicken " in this style of head.

They ALL look nice but the last 3 are my fav. Yes, they are a pain to tie!
-
Nice looking jigsand they can be a pain to tie, but once you get used to them they're easy. Put the blade and swivel on last and it's easier.

They look good. I like the colors on the bottom three too :)

IF I were a fish i'd say YUMMY!
BUT I'm not a fish. :)
-
Those look great. I too dread tying those!
-
I couldn't agree more...they are a pain to tie, but dog gone it they work,
so I keep tying them!!! I've made some "electric chicken" and also "burnt chicken" and they both catch fish!!
-
hays those look good i like the 4th one

Nice ones. I think the tying is the easy part with these and the blade installation is a pain in the behind. I think I'm going to quit using the 00 split rings.
-
With a really good pair of split ring pliers (Not the cheap Worth ones) they're not all that bad.

Jann's netcraft sells a split ring hemostat and a small plier that I have never found an equal to for small split rings like 00. Great colors on the pony heads.
-
hays - -great color combos
just finished my first ponyheads - Fatman right on - putting split rings and blades on after maribou and chenille best way and quality pliers worth the bucks (found an excellent pair on Do It Mold wed site $19.and cents and think their 0 split rings are not as heavy a wire and would work fine after using the heavier ones my 2cts.

Bump
I'm with you on the lighter weight split rings they're only there to hold the blade on, I also use them when I make Beetle spin spinners.
For split rings that connect hooks to lures, then the stainless steel ones come out.
Several folks are also useing butt rings for attaching blades.
