Jointed Minnow

First try for a jig version of the Jointed Minnow. The tail is actually tied by itself and hinged to the jig using mono line. Body made with marabou and Palmer Chenille. Still trying to get a better shape on body but need to get a pair of curved serrated scissors fo shaping!!

Simply AWSOME!! Have never seen that fly pattern before... i will be trying it soon. That thing HAS to have some kick to it! Thanks for posting. :)

All I can say is....WoW! thats a nice jig.

Len, I just had an idea. have you ever thought of trimming with a battery beard trimmer? Mine was cheap 6 yrs ago and still going strong. Less than $20. Might be able to get the desired effect without the high dollar scissors. Just some food for thought. Great looking jig.

Good idea Skeetbum. Will have to check around for a trimmer.

Dogone you , that jig that you tied , tied me up all morning. :)

Differences I incorporated , used a clouser style for front end of jig , left curve on trailing hook to act as a stinger hook, used spider wire braided line for the " hinge ".

Used a no# 2 streamer hook for main hook and an aberdeen long shank # 6 for stinger. Will post pic of creation later.

Now for the rest of you artistic tyers will you give a fella a break. I would like to fish sometime. All these creations make me run to the " cave " and try to imitate what triggers my fancy.

I'm thinking this jig is going to move like a 40 year old cougar in a bar full of college students.

Very nice Hays47 now wasn't that fun to experiment?LOL!!! I am also going to try leaving the point on the back hook for short bites.I cracked up at your statement about the 40 year old cougar and the college students.!!!!

Len : in case you haven't bought them yet. Get yourself a set of Prism Pens. Those colors really come to life on that mylar. They will not fade with age either. Even thogh the camera caught some of the highlights they look better in person.
