Anybody know where a guy might find a stash of old window weights? I use them for weights on trotlines, and my stash has since run out after my source went under.

I'll see if Dad wants to part with some, I know he has a stash. How many you lookin for?
matt...my dad used to have a 5 gallon bucket full of 'em...if he still has them, i'll send them your way but it'll be a week from sunday before we go over there
I have some old window weights as well(in KY though) but I'll tell ya something that might be easier to find for ya close around and works well. See if anyone has any old tractor gears/parts around and use them. The gears are about perfect size, but most of that steel is really heavy and makes a good weight and cuts the current.
I love using window weights, they do not hang very easy. They are just so hard to find.
Try craigslist.

Hey LM,
Walk ya some railroad tracks and pick ya up some J's. That's all I've used on my trotlines for 20 years in the river. I tie one every 10 hooks and even with current up to 60,000cfs or so, my lines hug the bottom. They're the perfect weight and ya get a little exercise to boot.
You might want to try your local junkyard I saw some at ours just the other day..
gasper goul,
Thank you
Matt
