Part of an evening with CN

Day 14... 5:00 p.m. arrive home, check to see if lawn mower battery has been purchased and replaced as promised 13+ days ago by Mr. CN. Answer: no :(

5:10 decide to take matters into own hands and attempt to change out battery myself. Change into lawn mower repair clothes

5:15 gather enough pliers, vice grips, box end wrenches and hammer (including head lamp and pair of glasses) to totally dismantle large, riding lawnmower to remove battery

5:20 arrive at garage, lift hood, try wrenches 1 - 10, nothing fits. Try wrench 11 - ta da... just the right size. Remove bolts holding down battery. Can move the bolt 1/16" at a time due to amount of space. Bolt #1 is at least ten feet in length. Bolt #2 longer than bolt #1. :( Find another wrench and pliers to remove battery cables. Pry 12" battery out of 10" box. :eek: Put battery in back of truck. Put on pair of gloves to not get dirt and battery acid all over my truck

5:30 leave for auto parts store

5:40 arrive at auto parts store - $37.00 later walk out with new, clean battery

5:50 arrive back at garage. Put new battery where old battery was. Squeeze 12" battery back into 10" box. Attach cables. Put 10' long bolts back on to hold down battery. No parts left over. :eek: :) Gather all tools, eye glasses, gloves. Put in truck.

6:10 Climb aboard mower. Pull out choke, adjust throttle, turn key to starting position and .................................................. ................................................
VAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)

Begin mowing yard. Finish mowing yard. Stop mower, clean out under mowing deck. Put mower away.

You sound like my wife. She learned a long time ago that if she wants it done on her schedule, it's best to do it her self. I love an independent woman, leaves me with more time to fish!

Well it was either that or hook up the utility trailer to my truck, back it to the lawnmower, push the lawnmower on and haul to repair dude and wait two MORE weeks for him to fix it. :(

That's what gloves are for, Fuzzy. :) Didn't even get any battery acid on my shirt! :) Didn't tell anyone that I fixed it either and he never noticed the wind-rows in the yard. :eek:

If feigned repairs are needed where lawn care is concerned, call the John Deere Shop and have them deliver the most expensive oversized and underpowered mower they have. Then kick his clutch until it's done. Next, schedule side jobs for him to pay for said mower, preferably on Saturdays.

Dang, CN. Do you hire out??? You da bomb. Actually you sound EXACTLY like my Deester. Last year for Christmas she wanted at new chain saw. Three years ago it was a miter saw. Before that it was a new set of Calloways.

But, at the end of the day she can hose off, put on a simple little black dress with pearls, and knock em dead. If you want to know what a lucky guy looks like, I'll send you my picture. LOL

Well I asked Mr. CN for a chainsaw - he IS a logger after all. He refused. Went to saw shop 20 miles away with my own cold, hard cash. Picked out chainsaw I wanted for cutting brush. Owner REFUSED to sell me the chainsaw!!! :( He figured it was for me so wouldn't do it. Told me he liked me too much to risk me cutting my leg off. Gotta love small towns! :eek:

Just think CN, if you would have married WB, you could fish all the time. Your home would be spic and span, dinner would be on the table when you get back from fishing and the yard would be manicured. I really think WB should have been a girl!

Now the question remains, how do I get to meet IS? I need her to school me on how to teach/LEARN a man. I need the starter course, the intermediate and the graduate course. I have 8 weeks of vacation. That ought to get me through the starter course, shouldn't it??? ;)
