That's a great batch of fish. I'm heading down that way tomorrow afternoon for a few days at Hillman Ferry, got any pointers?
You talk about running over, that live well was at max load. Great catch, and again great talking with you and getting to meet you.
As you see from the pic, the predator is watching over his prey, haha
Boy we didn't miss it by much about a week to early . Nice going Terry
I've got a buddy that's been at Hillmans for about a week. He's fished Pisgah hard and hasn't caught many. Pisgah gets hammered this time of year because of the camp ground. Don't waste your time in there. Either run down the lake to Smith, Duncan, Sugar, or go across to the west side. Get away from the crowd in Pisgah.
If the lake keeps fall'n don't waste your time in the shallows chasing the Blacks. You'll catch a few but it won't be nearly as productive. Find some stuff in 10' to 16' of water and go after the Whites. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if a man couldn't spider rig that range right now and catch fish. Some of the black females may also pull back and stage high on that brush so fish it top to bottom. Check the shallows but don't stick with it all day if the bite isn't there. Always check the shallow stuff late in the day. If the water stabilizes go check the shallow stuff. Just as soon as the lake settles down the blacks are gonna make a run. Bet on it. The water temp. is there.
Now we are gonna get a little cold front thru here on Wed. Highs are gonna be in the high 60's for a few days. The cold front won't effect the deeper fish as much so again... After the front, focus mostly on the whites for a couple of days.
Wiskers, thank you.
I'm going to print this out and use it like the Bible of fishing for the week.
It sounds like our timing is right for once, except for the cold front. I hope we can catch a time or two when the blacks are shallow and hitting jigs.
Hopefully we get a few and I'll post a report when we return home.

Man a livewell sure looks better loaded down with a bunch of fish! Great advice you gave on the lake Wiskers and some nice pics, WTG!!
oh yeah!!!!.....thats what I'm talking bout!!! Good Show!!!!!!
Hey whiskers,
I thought you were headin back out on the big boat? Good to see your getting to hit'em while they're hot this year. I think last year you had to pull out right when it was gettin good. How's your ratio of whites and blacks? We are starting to see 80% whites now. Last week it was 90% blacks.
Great job! I hope I can find some fish like that when I come down for the week on sunday!
Wiskers, pay no attention to the camo Triton that is tied off to your rear cleat the next time that you go out. :D
Man, that's a nice mess of fish!!!
When I grow up, I hope to be able to catch a mess of fish like that. The way fishing has been this year I have forgot what that's like.
Great job!!
Now thats what Im talkin about ,nice job.Tasty looking mess..

That's exactly what I was thinking, but mine will be a white skeeter!!!:D
Yep, I was suposed to go back about a week and a half ago but they been tying up boats. I gotta catch the boat tomorrow. Yall leave a few for me.
I've been catch'n a lot of whites lately also but I think it has a lot to do with the way/locations I've been forced to fish with this fall'n water and cold fronts. When this water settles down the blacks are gonna fun back in.
It was the New Decals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
