Free Minners!!!!

I just dropped my boat off at the shop. At the last FJ, I walked up to the boat and noticed the outside right tire was slick as Torch's head for the first 1.5 inches on the outside.......the tire, not Torch's head. His is slick all the way around.

Anyhow, looks like either my axle has slipped on it's hangers, it's out of camber or I've got a bent axle. The left tire is wearing the same on the outside, but no where near as bad as the other.

Either way, at least 1 new tire is in the works and maybe an axle as well.

So, I'm standing around talking Crappie, when the guy asks me, what's that smell? Did you leave a fish in your livewell? That's when it hit me. I left 3 dozen minners in the livewell in case I has a chance to go fishing Sunday or Monday before my surgery. Doh!!!!!!

Did you know a minnow will liquify after about 17 days? Me neither. Not fully of course, but the fins will.

Now you smell like a catfisherman.:D Seriously, I had the same problem when I first bought my boat. Since we both have G3's, I bet you have the same thing happening. I took my trailer to a friend of mine who owns a trailer fabricating shop. He check it out and told me the axle was undersized for that boat. It had a half ton axle but my friend explained that with a loaded boat going down the road and bouncing, it puts alot more down force on the axle than it can actually handle. He recomended that I replace it with a 3/4 ton axle. I did and went from replacing tires every 1.5 years. to still running the same set of tires for 3 years now and they still look new. the wheels dont splay out under a heavy load anymore thus the trailer is running on the full tire instead of just the outsides.

That's what's got me wondering Speck. Normally, an axle has a slight bend to it, so that when the trailer is loaded, it flattens out to run flat. Without a load, the tires would wear on the outside. Now mine DID wear on the outside for some reason as if the axle is oversized for the load. The bearings had just a tad of slack, but nothing bad. I'm betting the shackles have slipped. But I told the dude to fix it and if that means a new axle, so be it, but I needed it before Saturday after this one so get on with it if it had to be ordered.

Stewpit trailers. Sure do miss my WE trailer. That thing was built right!

I just replaced the axle in mine, if only one side wearing I bet its a shackle issue or bearing. Usually when axle bends both tires get ate up.

About a week after our last tourney I noticed that my partner/brother had left a fish I'm my livewell. If we could have weighed that nanny in we'd won hands down. She was swole up to bout 3lbs. He just laughed. I just gagged and cried. Dang it stunk.

Both are wearing Torch, but he right is bad bald, the other you have to rub it to tell the difference, but it is there. I think it's gonna turn out to be the axle. You'd think it would be wearing on the inside if it was bent though.

Oh, what the hey....I mean, how much could an axle be really....15, 20 bucks?

They're not as bad as you's think. If you can weld the shackles on where you need them and turn a wrench, they are easy to change. Here's where I bought mine.

it should load lighter and unload a bit lighter now that he has gave birth to the twins. I guess maybe he needs to let one of the little B's start sitting in it and him WB stay out of it

Guys if you will check the air pressure I bet your only running 32 lbs. Not what it takes for a boat tire. There rated for around 50 lbs. I had 2 trailers that did that. Put new tires on and put I think it was 48 lbs of air. Stopped it for me.
So may people run 32 lbs and it lets your tires wear out just as your talking about.

I run 45 Lbs. in mine and never had a problem.

max pressure here. Besides low pressure would wear both the inside and outside. Good point though. Everybody should be max according to the side wall. Don't assume your tire is rated 35 or 55. Lean over and read it.

I run nitro in all my tires. Ummmm the aroma.:D

Yeh Wannabe....if ya can't afford to run Nitro in your tires...just paint your caps with some green spray paint and that way everybody will think your running it. :D

while you were doing your early spring inspection of your boat? Tires aren't gonna wear that fast bud so you SHOULD have caught that when you did your 100 point inspection of your boat and trailer

My client should not be attacked like this. It is unbelievable, unconscionable, and preposterous. WB was so devoted to trying to help his friends get their boats and trailers ready that he just simply could not get all his inspection done in time to defend his fantastic fishing abilities from the many-sided, unending attacks that he endures on this site. I've seen on here since, well, heck, I can't remember ever hearing it that deep on here EVER. You got some issues you need to tend to Max if you truly believe all that. LOL and Wannabe, just how much money did my upside down ducer cost me? Not a penny. Now whats the costs on 2 new tires, fixed axle and what else was wrong with it. Here's the REL QUESTION, WHAT did you do to your trailer to mess the axle up? Whats ya hit while you was backing up? Do you remember saying OOPSY DAISY one time?

And that's the thing. I haven't hit anything. Not even a bad pothole on the road. Oh well.....far as I know, those tires are original to the boat, so 4 years ought to be about right for 'em. It's only money. Besides, I'm planning on making some extra come the 10th and I'll prolly be ahead come the 17th.

Fish are biting now so you may as well stay home and send yo money on to the FJ. I DID get pulled over this past Saturday by the Sherriff Dept about the boat. Seems that the 5 gallon bucket my brother put in the back of the boat for Poo purposes had a problem. Seems the Toilet Paper he put in the bucket had flown out the bucket and wrapped around my motor and prop. Guess I had a poop prop problem. Funny thing was when he was getting back in is patrol car he told me me brother had no TP for his bunghole. LOL COPS WORDS. LOL I cracked up on that

Atlas axle in ward, ar. If they don't have it they can sure put it together quickly. I'll try to find a number.

And I'm with DD. what did you back into while arguing with Is over who had to clean the fish you don't catch.

Guess that is better than having it hanging out from your pants leg. AND FOR YOU WB, you better bring all the little B's you can muster to help you out next time cause if you don't I am going to fling nuggets all over you BWAHAHAHA
