Went to my favorite crappie spot yesterday for the first time in open water, not cool, actually too cool, the water tem was 39 and dirty, no crappie but a ton of giant giant perch
Nothing wrong with the perch!!!!!!!!!!! Good time to stock up the freezer with really firm cold fillets.

Dunmore is open. Thought I'd head there tonight after work. Any ideas on where to start there for slabs, never been there to fish. Thanks guys
never even seen the lake or know what swims in it
Found some Crappie this weekend! Found some water that was 51-54 degrees. Slow trolled small jigs and did very well. 16 slabs on Sunday. There out there guys, find the warm water!

Big River Bait & Tackle in Hinesburg has a great selection of jigs and plastic.
River Crappie, most bodies of water this side of the state are warming up nicely. I just went to a spot where I caught them this winter.

Yeah bobby i have been exploring this forum. Alot of stuff on here. this is getting good. And hello to the guys at big river..thanks for the tips. Maybe whenever im up there i will swing in and get some. i really like those jigs with the little spinner on it. alot of perch fishernen use them but heard they are great for crappie to. Also some tubes.
thanks fatman. Happy to be apart of this.
Did some reaserch and the jigs im looking for are called road runners.
I've tried them around here mark, no fish on em yet
Tried Road Runners this early and you really gotta go slow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Around here the only place I've seen them is Dicks and Classic Outfitters. Your cheapest bet is to go right to the site and order from there. I make my own so it definatley helps save money.

yeah im going to start ordering offline. but talked to people and they said dont waist the time with those. so im going to get jigs off line.
Mark and I did 33 yesterday in three hours down south, mostly whites but some blacks mixed in. Really windy so we had to use heavy jigs but the fished where stacked on structure in 13fow. I would have some pics but it was a little white yesterday to be running a camera
