Stick on 3d eyes

Ok for you guys using the 3D stick on eyes what size are you using???? I know the glue on them doesn't work worth beans but I've got two part epoxy for that.

Been wanting to try some on my minnow head jigs.

So far the only ones I have had fit anything I have are 1/8". I have been using Zap Gel for the glue, but man it's hard to keep from them sticking to your fingers and all and once they do the glue is all over them on the wrong side. The only way I can work them so far is some tweezers and bodkin working together. It's so hard to not put too much glue.

I am not sure on that because I had to order some more eyes but I did place the shank of a 5/32 drill bit into the opening and it fits.Will know for sure when the eyes come in.

Both 1/8 and 5/32 eyes fit these heads I have.

5/32 is the size to fit Crazy Angler's shad jigs, 1/8 will fit others and for the larger weights (1/4 and up) 1/4 inch. Hope this helps.
The way I do it is very fast and neat. Put a drop, ONLY A DROP, of super glue in the recessed socket, then with an exacto knife slide the eye to the edge of the paper, then place it next to the recessed eye socket and gently
slide it in place, then using the back of the exacto press firmly on the middle of the eye. Let it sit for five minutes, then repeat on other side. I usually
do five at a time. Works every time and no mess or sticky fingers!!!

skip I use gorilla superglue you will like the container you can see the glue coming out .

Is the Gorilla Superglue a thick or runny formula?

I don't think that I can use that stuff as it expands and will just stick with the Zap Gel as I like it and just need to work on my techniques. Zap Gel is the ticket for me I think and the guy working at Hareline told me that is what he uses so can't be too bad since they carry so many items of glue.

it is not runny or thick I would say that is perfect after it dries you will not get anything apart you will have to cut it off we've been using it on the eyes with real good luck.

I have used the Components Systems Water Based Seal Coat over the recessed eyes on the minnow heads and they seem to stay on very well.Component Systems waterbased seal coat lure finish.

you're thinking of the gel for furniture skip I will enclose a picture of the two different models the one on your left is for furniture the one on the right will be for super gluing stuff together it is crystal clear that the one that they use for furniture is not clear and it will expand up their superglue does not expand it's like any other superglue that you buy over-the-counter but it is better.http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/t...fish/bn003.jpg[/IMG]

I have never tried it but the next time I order I will definitely pick up a bottle.

I use 3mm on my small stuff and 4 or 5mm for my ultra minnows.Once I put the eyes in I use SH HARD AS NAILS.One coat after the eyes are put in and another after I tie the jig.I've never lost an eye,lose the jig before that happens.

Well I'm gonna Break down and tell Ya'll how to really do it I'm tired of the glue! put the eye's in the head Yes 5/32's also fit My heads if Your not heavy on the paint do all your heads before tying fluff your clear powder dipthe heads in then heat with lighter just till it look's like ice melting re-dip hang on rack if You use the type clear I use cure at 295-300 do NOT go over 320 the eyes are permanently bonded into the head and fussed with all the colors this dose not work on heads that do not have a recess or been prior cured before clearing the eye's will slide on the head a little THROW YOUR GLUE AWAY!
