Anybody know of a good reel repair shop around Memphrica? I tried to take one of my Okumas apart to let some water out of it and now the counter doesn't work. I'm sure I didn't get one of gear thingy's lined up properly or something.:(

thanks for asking though Yikes. Guess I shouldn't have mooned you and got you all excited:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Someone on the board is a reel repairman or was last year, surely they will holler in a little.
I know of one in south ms, but you'd have to ship. Know another in va that's good too.
Wannabe...
The best I can remember there were 2 on here last year that were working on a line counter reel. I think their names are billbob and rip a lip.:D

They are 24 friggin dollars...get a new one!
I know that's why I need somewhere local that can hook me for a $10 spot. It still works perfect as a normal reel but without the linecounter feature it's a just a parts reel to me.
If I'm going to pay shipping then it's going to be for shipping that will have a new one headed my way.
save it till camp rip and me will work on it
Yikes, I think one of the guys at BPS in memphis is a reel repair guy.
I vote for letting Billbob work on it!!
Thanks guys. I'll take it to camp and see what Billbob and Rip can do.
get er done
You let those ya-hoos work on it you'll get it back and the reel won't even be working on it, and your rod tip will be broke....
go back to work Patrick. LOL You gonna stop by and see us Friday or Saturday? I'll have FREE BEER for ya. LOL
i will come up for a free beer or two or ten
just bring your own green cup. LOL
Patrick I've never put billbobs mechanical skills to the test but I have tested Rip's and I can tell you first hand that he can fix darn near anything.
I see this add all the time on CL. Don't know anything about her. Do you need a rod or reel fixed or a custom pole call MS ZETTY
If you have two of them open up one that works and see what you did wrong. That how I would fix it. It can't be that hard!!! A 8 year old Chinese put it together the first time.
Just order a new reel and send the one that does not work to me. :)
