Political ads?

With all due respect Moderator, why involve political ads into a fishing forum? We are fishermen regardless of political preference. The three sins of business are politics, sex and religion. One does not discuss. NOW, i see this forum as a Republican agenda. WHY? Obama Care? As much as I hate to start a new thread on this topic, Crappie.com opened the door. Why? I read your response to an obvious obscene thread and I'm with that 100%. I hope you/we keep this as an informative tool for fishing only. Why bring n the politics? Being a Democrat and supporting Obama's plan only alienates me from this forum and its owners. Lets keep the political ads out and keep it plain and simple for outdoor enthusiasts!!!! Now that the citizens of America have began to understand the Democrat agenda and the plans that party has for America, If I were a Democrat I wouldn't wanna talk about it either.
No one wishes to alienate any one from these discussions.

But if you support what this Democrat congress and the current President has in mind for us... Why do you NOT wish to stand up and say just how proud you are of what he's/they are attempting to do to America??

I'll be the first to stand up and shout as loud as I can...I am a conservative. I believe in less Government and more personal responsibility. I don't want nor need the Government to take my money and then tell me how I should live. When and where I should go to the Doctor. I am capable of handling my business thank you very much! I want no more Government than is neccassary to complete it's task given it by the Constitution of the U.S. of A.
I LOVED Ronald Reagan as our President. I liked George W. Bush. I do wish however he'd found his veto pen when it came to growing our Government and increasing our national debt.
A debt, I'll remind you that President Obama has more than tripled in less than a year in office.

And this "off topic" forum is the appropriate place... as far as I understand it, to discuss our opinions about what's going on in our country. WE SHOULD talk about it... in a civil way. The Georgia Crappie forum would be the inappropriate place to discuss politics, religion or sex.
Your right about the three sins of business... but this is NOT a business.... it's a "off topic forum"....
So we're not to discuss politics in the "off topic" forum because it's not wise to do so in business? Huh??

I completely understand the "lets all get along" sentiment of your post because we're all fishermen... I got it. And I agree... I don't hold it against anyone because they are Democrats. Just as I hope no one holds it against me because I'm a conservative. NOTICE I did not say Republican... The Republican party has been way to liberal for my taste as of the past 10 years.

My understanding to the rules of this site, as long as our discussions are respectful, without personal attacks and does not contain inappropriate language... then the post is acceptable.

but please don't attempt to sensor the topics of the "off topic forum".... we have moderators who are very good at taking care of this if we, the posters violate the terms of the web site.

first this is a site for fishing it has ads to help pay for it some of the ads change ever so often and no telling what might come up but heres the thing and im sorry if ya dont like it but its eds site if he wants the ads to help his cost <witch is alot> then theres nothing you me that guy over there or anybody can do about it

as for its alienates you from the site thats only becouse you let it none of us care what side you voted just like you dont care how we did ether

Just finished reading your post,as I see this subject all it does is prevent me from haveing a try at talking you to my side of thinking.As far as the 3 sins of discussion I feel it only applies to thoes that can not have a discussion.

the post was started saying the ads here alienates him and i think some yes gave there side of things and thats fine but i dont think the ads or any of us would stop you from saying what ever you feel about your way of thinking
btw in poles first post he said he didnt like ether side becouse nether one was what they are sapost to be anymore

With all due respect 2 gun, this is exactly why we have the "OFF TOPIC" forum. So we can discuss things that are important to us, such as politics, religion, family, and "How To's", etc. The main forum is for fishing and we are trying to keep it that way. We all apologize if this forum offends you in any way, but as long a things are civil and respectful We see no in letting you or anyone else vent. These things need discussing by everyone.

Please know that JimmyS, Papasage and myself TRY real hard not to let things get too far out of hand but we are (well most of us) are adults and the MOD's for this board will treat every as an adlut until they stop acting like one.

At present I hold both parties accountable for the mess we have in this country. I am now in the "Vote out the Incumbent" mood regardless of the party. I think new blood across the board who have the proper perspective of who they are to be accountable to is the best move toward getting politics under control at all levels. If things don't change there will be consequences that we never thought could happen in this county.

PoFisher, Sir, I salute you, Your words are powerful and inspirational. We have quietly stayed out of it for so long over the fear that someone would acuse of us of being “racist” or homofobe or heartless or any other word used to terminate a resonable and logical train of thought. We need to stop using such soft language with these people. Welfare reciepients are where they are because of thier own poor choices. If someone drops out of a public school paid for by the public. Because of grades, drugs, behavior ect , it was thier choice. Gets pregnant cant afford the hospital bill, or rent or lights or food it was thier choices. Why does the 70% of Americans who followed the rules and laws, that did thier homework in school, that worked an sacrificed and did without to pay thier own bills, have to pay for the ones that didnt. Sure I feal bad when I see these people in need. We had the same school, the same teachers, the same oportunities, we just made diffrent choices. My Mother had a saying that her father told her, and she passed it down to me.
