In secret spots and parts unknown.....with 10ft diameter on each I should be able to build a nice crappie nest for the pre and post spawn.

When should I expect my GPS coords? I'll give you mine if you give me yours
When the housing market gets back to going, I'll have all the 3/4 inch PVC pipe I can handle from new house construction leftovers
Those ate pre made fish structures...NO Snag brand.
Guarenteed to make sure you feel like you're crappie feshing cause you'll lose a bunch a jigs every time you fesh 'em
are you going to use the cement blocks for anchors?? I watched russ bailey and company put some together and they just used a couple reg bricks and put a tee on the bottom pole to secure them on - it was a lil shorter than the others if I remember right.
Yea the blocks ate zip tied to the bottom half of the ball and ill only utilize half of the design this way. But it allows me to put them in shallower water and the block will stand up to a little current.
I put some out 4 years. I have retreived a couple of them. They came apart at the seam in the ball. the ball is a 2 part cast which is glued together.. I am putting the balls back together with screws and try again. I don't know if the problem was caused by aging or by chain draggers. PIA recovering them too.
Just to share.
I actually snagged one and pulled it to the surface with 6lb line. Before the line broke I could see a brick tied to the ball.
if you were only utilizing half of the ball couldnt you take a sawz all and cut the ball in half - then you got twice as many to use - just a thought
Will the pvc pipe stay connected to the center, just by pushing it tight ?? That was my only concern about these!!!!
I think that's what they make PVC glue for.. and I'd wait til it set up real good before I dropped it!... or use the "rain or shine" grade glue.
I'm pretty sure that glueing the pipe in would also help a great deal with preventing the two halves from coming apart.
Are there any po' mans alternatives to snagless type structure that you don't have to spend a bunch of money on just to throw it in the lake?
... or are the Crappie gods unappeased if it doesn't cost money???
pvc glue don't hold it very good. After sitting in water for a time, you can pull the pvc pipe out the ball...
Bricks Is All I've Ever Had To Use Too Don't Take Much For Sure
Being a commercial construction superintendent, I've seen/inspected many many miles of above and below ground PVC plumbing... both supply and drain.
I've found that failure in a glued joint is attributed to a very weak link between the pipe and the "in can" applicator 99.99% of the time! (if you catch my drift) ;)
Upgrade to the rain or shine glue, it costs a little more but is worth it!
Jb Weld
Hey bigger i,m not into this yet but they really look good, should work real good!!!!
