Those are great LH! Pretty n pink! Ive been painting some blades with glow powder for some 1/8th oz spinnerbaits im working on. Did you paint both sides or just the outer?
Wow! Love the pink! Don't wear the color, but still like these jigs. Pink blades are too cool. A great cause also, very good of you LH. I'll bet trout will bite those and I think I have heard of someone having some success on crappie with pink jigs at Lake Henshaw (Ca) How's the action? Do they wobble?
Very clean ties! Do you whip finish on thread bodies or make a chain of hitch knots.... can never see your finish. Don't know that I've ever seen pink blades for that mater.
Those are excellent!!! Very neat and clean. Very nice work Led and for a great cause to.

Thnx - Have painted bigger blades – 1 & 2 – first time for this real small stuff. Just doing the outer.
PB
Thnx - donating a ½ dozen Black Diamond Custom Chubs for the Special Olympics also. Think the auction thing is supposed to happen in March so start saving your $.
Heard Crappie Mike was working the waters down in that area… The Redear are biting in the Marina at Perris.

The thread is a 3/0 flat wax whip finished. The “trick” is;
After you have built up the tapered body – right before you tie off - let the bobbin hang and then spin it counter clockwise (if you are right handed – opposite for lefties). I do this while I’m wrapping the body – the thread is flat – and smooth. After you cut off the thread you want to burnish the wrap (I use my thumb nail), at the tie off, and pull the tag under the wraps. It’s a rod wrapping technique.

Thnx – hoping they “rake it in”.

Thnx - Tried the dinks with the embossing fluid mix (red, white, and blue) – looks great – but the fluid doesn’t evaporate off (argh) – even at 400*! Think the ratio I used was too much fluid – they say you can tone it down with water.

Thnx - want to see what you came up with.
Awesome color, great job
Very,very nice !!!
those are sure pretty good job on the jigs.
Those should bump up the bidding for sure. I painted blades for r--dru--ers many years ago and got away from it.After seeing the really nice pink on these blades I'll have to get back to it. I'm putting it on my gotta do list right now.Total coverage on blades may be tricky.Got any advice Led.
Great looking jigs ! Good cause too ! Love the color

Hi LH
Nice and for a good cause
JSC
Beautiful beautiful job on these . But can someone explain why I don't have a " feel " for the phlat heads. I am assuming that they are primarily a " bassy " jig.
Can someone edumicate me on this ? I usually have an infinity for the oddity like 28 ga favorite shotgun , 7mm-08 favorite rifle cal , 357MAX favorite pistol and then theres my wife.
But for the phlat nada , zip ,zilch ????
Maybe because I lost interest in bass fishing long time ago.

Hope you don’t mind the pre posting for the auction…. Cadman should do another tutorial for the blade painting.
Say hey JSC – thnx – hope these things can bring in some $ for the auction.

Just starting using this style in the fall and it was catching a lot of big bluegill and it did catch some green carp. Haven’ got any crappie yet.
The design is to get a jig deep and for flat lining. Was catching the big BG and RE in 9’ to 15’ while ticking the bottom. They track really straight and have tight wobble. Also these jigs are using iridescent (holographic glitter in the body clearcoat), phosphorus (glow in the dark eyes and pink glow flashabou in the tail), and fluorescence (more flashabou in the tail). Hopefully they will work on the crappie this spring……
Mr Ledhed
Thank you . I might have to rethink my prejudiced opinion. Twixt the ages of 14-22 or so I fished for nothing but bass. Smallmouth , Largemouth and Kentucky these three fish species were my only fish I considered fishing for. 99% catch and release.
Somewhere in my mid-20's teamed up with a partmer that was into panfish. When his wife cooked one of our batches , that converted me into a panfisherman.
May have to get a few of these to try this spring myself. Thanks for info.
LedHed- you tie awesome jigs. NICE JOB. Crappie sure like pank jigs
LedHed.....
Those are not only awesome, they are totally sharp !!..WOW !!

Thnx - really appreciate the compliments
I can't wait to see the smaller sizes.I've been stocking up on my hardbodies. This year I plan on putting the hurt on them. Lighter ones would be killer in my area.
