Just curious if anyone has been doing any good down at old town yet. I know it is still a little cool, but I was planning a camping trip in a couple of weeks with my 11 year old step son to do some yo-yo ing. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

thanks, looking forward to hearing from you
I called my buddy that lives over there......Not biting yet....no reports at all...and he hears all the reports....next month.....sometimes it's april before they turn on....sho is some slabs in that sucker...:D
some big ole bass fish next to them cypress trees as well!
I was at OTL February 6 & 7. Crappie weren't hitting yoyos. We did manage one crappie, one bass, and 14 cats though. That weekend was bad cold and windy. Conditions were awful. Maybe it's picked up a little since then.
I talked to a fellow who fished Old Town a lot a few years ago, and he caught an awful lot of crappie there in Feb. and Mar., but he said he did it during 3 day or longer warm trends, and we really haven't had any of those lately. It's just cool to cold.
Not biting YET!! .....stay tuned....
you boys might better hit that lake this weekend....;)
Thanks guys
take along a box or two of nightcrawlers. the catfish are almost always willing.
It is my understanding that there is going to be a crappie tournament held on Old Town this weekend.
I hope not I plan on going there with a few dozen yo yo's:D
