from a VERY DEAR friend. Seems he had a post, well has had more than one deleted off of here. I haven't read the post because it was deleted but I do know it was sent via PM and Email to SEVERAL members on here and they saw no problem with it. Enlighten me G-3, what was it exactly that made you delete it. This problem will cause way more than 1 person to leave this board. Several are talking about it right now. There weren't any cuss words in it. Just something about chili.
No cuss words...it was in fact a funny story. It was the subject matter...which was about something else besides chili. I made a judgement call and thought it was inappropriate for a family oriented site.
I also deleted a thread Crappie Cowboy made this morning because of the same reason.
ANYTIME you delete a post, please send that person a PM and let them know why you did it. I've had 1 post deleted on here and Patrick was nice enough to explain why he did it. If someone gets something deleted, it's nice to know WHY it's done
I sent Torch A PM and told him that I was sorry and tried to explain. Now for the rest of you....this is what happened and why. Ed wants a family oriened thing here....nothing that kids shouldn't read or see. I have cut a lot of slack and let lots and lots of stuff go. But this morning I come on and Crappie Cowboy has a post about shoving viagras up his rectum and getting his finger stinky and then picking his nose etc. I thought that was just a little too much so I deleted it. Then not long later here comes Torch with a very funny story about eating chili, and farting and blowing poo all over etc. I thought Wow...if I don't delete Torches post I am gonna really catch it for deleteing Cowboys. Remember now I did not delete the one Torch made awhile back about the guy pooping in his boat on the decoy and them throwing the decoy in the water and shooting it and blowing poo all over the boat. It may just be me but I think that we don't need to be talking about shoving stuff up rectums and pooping etc. So I drew a line. OK...The threads are soft deleted and they can be put back up and I have asked Ed to decide whether to leave them like they are or put them back up. There was nothing personal in me deleteing the threads. I really think the board looks better for Mississippi without them....but thats just me. It may be time for me to vacate C.c as it appears that nobody seems to understand or maybe I don't understand...whatever.

I get on here almost everyday and enjoy reading what all of you have to say. We all share a common interest of crappie fishing. I'm not sure who has met on here or who are good friends and who are just on here. None of us have to have this to live or catch crappie but I enjoy this site. What upsets me on here is that it seems like I can kill a thread more than anyone. I will post something that I think is funny or deserves a comment and most of the time I'm the last one to post. Do I let that bother me or hurt my feelings? Nope I just keep reading and tagging along. I have said all of that to say this. G 3 I think your job is extremely tuff because you catch crap from us and Ed. Your cauoght in the middle and I think you do good. Torch I read the chilli post and thought it was funny, but in all fairness to everyone else if it has to go then it has to go. I don't think you should leave with the thread, at least you get comments on the stuff you do post. Nobody needs to go anywhere, we are all very diverse but that us what makes it a good board. Give it a few days before y'all leave, I think you'll cool off.
G3 stay on track! It's been getting a little "queer" around here lately. Saw cowboy's thread this morning and thought that same thing. Little too much details. That's why people shouldn't mix Geritol and whiskey:p. I even think I threw up a little in my mouth after the thought went through my head. Didn't see the one from Torch, but after getting to know him a little, I can understand;). We just got a little too comfortable with the pace of "shock threads" and it went a little too far. However, moderators can't be there to help feed the fire either. This slappin people's privates joke seems a little overboard too. Dems fightin words where I come from! It's ok to say it once, but it has become a norm for some around here. Let's keep it clean and get back to talkin about fishin and other fishin activities. That's the reason we all joined cdotc.

G-3 is and was right with what he did. Period.
I have a young boy that can use the computer well and this is a site I would like for him to have access to but there have been some posts on this board of late that are just inappropriate. I have met many of you guys and I know you would not talk that way in front of children. It is easy to forget this is not just a room full of grown men.
The posts that were deleted were inappropriate. It does not matter how long you been on here or what you post count is.
Simple if you would not say it in front of children do not say it here. That is the rule as I read it and G-3 enforced the rule.

Like any community, there will be disagreements. Feelings get hurt (right or wrong) and tempers flare. From my vantage point, both sides have gotten a little emotional. I personnally think G-3 does a bang up job trying to mediate a buch of half drunk (I have to assume!) southern fishermen and he should be commended for his tireless efforts. I also think the world of Torch. He was one of the first CCers I met and he took me on my one and only Enid fishing trip. Both of these gents are valuable to the community I enjoy and it is my sincere hope that they (as well as everyone else) will stick around after the dust settles and continue to share their fishing and and non fishing related stories.

i'M AS GUILTY AS ANYONE in letting matters go too far on this site in the past. All the guys and gals on this site are top shelf, but anyone can slip once in a while. Let's just agree we've all learned a lesson and vow to not let it happen again. We have too much to lose with this kind of banter. You guys and gals should be setting the example for the other state boards to follow. You've come too far to blow it now. Torch and Cowboy are longtime contributors to this site and well thought of, but it would be good if we could tone down our grammar and still be friends. Some of our members have put a lot of work into trying to make this site one of the best and busiest on C.com and would feel slighted if any member got bent and decided to quit over something such as this. Our guardians (mods) have a tough job with trying to keep everyone happy. We can't beat up on our mod for doing his job. They're too hard to replace. Come on guys. This one's not worth it.:):):)

We just went through the same type of thing on the MO board. It's all better now. It's a judgment call that the moderators have to make and it's their call. It's not a personal thing. I hope Torch and SatDoc and G3 will all stay! :) I enjoy giving Sat and G3 grief. I haven't crossed paths with Torch "yet". ;)

Ya'll are bunch of girls. I can promise ya'll you don't want G3's job. Tough to make that call sometimes. I have edited waaaay more cus words than I sould have to, when i should have just deleted. I have not read either post, so I have no idea what i would have done, but if the man makes a call, and sends the pm why, well then I guess i respect his opinion.
Pstone, I think what the problem was...I did not PM them and tell them why. That was wrong of me...but I thought when you soft deleted things and entered the reason that they could see that and thats why I did not send a PM. I have since found out that they cannot see that. So yeh....I will send Pm's next time for sure.
