Horsehair..????

Mornin' Guys....
I have a bunch of horsehair and wanted to know if anyone has ever used it in tying jigs..????....I sure are tempted to try it out ....
What do y'all think ????

Never have tried it but trying it won't hurt a bit.I'd like to see the results.It's long isn't it,so it could be used like bucktail. Probably work better with bigger jigs.

Yes, the hair is very long, it is tail hair....I also figured it would be better used on a larger jig....
So I am going to have to "hitch up the team "....and head for the tying room !!:D:D

Last year a buddy brought me a handful of horse tail hair, said if I'd tie him some jigs, he make breakfast. Sounded like a good deal to me so I tied a half dozen 1/8 oz jigs on pink, black, chartreuse and orange heads. Later on that week he brought up three LM bass he caught on the jigs. Sooooo, I don't know if Crappies would hit them but Bass seem to like em. Give em a try ML.

I agree CK3...That is enough Horsein' Around !!:D:D....But that is a great idea about the jigs for LMB...definately going to give it a try !!!

sounds like a perfect ideal to me horsehair make sure you post some pictures when you get them tied up.

Tie them up and try them out!

If the fish don't bite them you can always use them for little shaving brushes and whisk brooms!;)

I would sure tie up a couple and see how they look in the water. You can take an old fish tank to see what they look like right inside the house.

I had and rode a lot of horses when I was a kid, but have not done so since I was probably around 18. Use to love ridding them and enjoyed the horses a lot. What fantastic animals they are so majestic and all. By the time I was 10 or 11 my uncle had given me about 10 of them and out of that 10 only one would kick the crud out of you if you got behind him.

ill tell ya i got some too its a lil stiffer then most stuff you tye with and a good bit thicker but makes a ok jig biger jigs like 1/2oz looks real good on
allso it works great on bugs for ainteni and things

I would think you are right about good for antenna and maybe even other tiny parts of a bug.
